Mare of Easttown (2021)
If Kevin Garvey was a woman.
The director of "The Most Powerful Man in the World (and His Identical Twin Brother)" & "International Assassin" from The Leftovers directs another series. That's all I need to say.
Forza Horizon 5 (2021)
Made for your kids not you.
Only thing good about this game is its graphics. Everything else just sucks.
All the cars are unlocked from the beginning, the story is the worst story ever (basically there's no story), there are too many useless rewards. The whole map is empty and boring. The characters act like they are talking to their kids. I finished 12/12th in a race and they praised me after finishing? WTAF? Is this game made for kids?
The Leftovers (2014)
Profound & Perfect (not an overstatement)
They're bothered by my constant demand to give this masterpiece a watch but I can't help myself. This show impacted me in a deep way & after the ride it seemed hard to map why it moved me the way it did. I will try. The way the past & the present connect smoothly while revealing some mysteries in a perfect pace makes the storytelling a masterpiece. There's always some type of question being asked by the viewer, which is answered exactly when you want it to, surprising the viewers and the characters, who are imperfect, like every well written character, living in an abnormal time still making themselves so relatable, which seems to be the aim/point of the maker. Add the fitting music & top-notch acting, and this show remains worth remembering forever.
Vikings: Valhalla (2022)
For people who liked this:
Why people didn't like Vikings: Valhalla:
1. The absurd ratio of good and evil in the characters. Compared to Vikings, which had characters written in the perfect ratio of good and evil, due to which it was hard to choose a side, this show felt a pure failure. This show clearly shows us "the good guys" vs. "the bad guys". We are clearly supposed to hate one type of people and love the other. This was a mistake as it's frowned upon in every form of art.
2. The music that was the reason Vikings provided us with such a different feeling was absent from this one and the makers chose to use pop music instead. Which reduced the immersion Vikings (or even GOT) was known for.
3. The acting wasn't impressive as well. As much of the cast was chosen for their good looks rather than their acting skills, which resulted in poor expressions in almost all the characters & the dialogue delivery lacked emotions.
4. The story telling was absurd, the pacing lacked a decision & the character motivation for almost anything seemed unreasonable given the context. I don't think the writers team did even a fine job of making a story out of the history even when half of it was fictional. Compared to Viking & The Last Kingdom of course.
5. The messaging seemed forced & the "good people" didn't seem to act as if they were medieval which felt completely ridiculous. All the messaging was obviously targeted towards teenagers & youngsters, who are the same people that liked this show the most.
Sons of Anarchy (2008)
Well written
The show was worth my time as it follows it's own patterns and remains consistent with acting, writing & music. Even though the interesting-boring curve takes a dip sometimes, it manages to come right back up to remain in the sweet zone or even surpass it.
