House of the Dragon (2022– )

Not GOT and not GOOD

Are people simply giving this show good ratings because they are being told it is good?

The story is boring and unengaging and there are no likeable characters. In fact, there is not much to like about it at all.

There is no Hound, no Aria, no Cersei, no Red witch, no Dire wolves, or even a raven. I think you see where I'm going here. But wait... There ARE dragons. Is that the reason for all the hype and good ratings??

I just fail to see why people are liking this show. I was never expecting it to be as good at GOT but I was hoping it would be close.

I gave this show a rating of 1 to try to offset all the ludicrous 10s. Realistically, its maybe a 7 if you are into dramatic TV series.

I've stopped watching it.

Disclaimer: Like so many others, I generally do not like Tom Cruise as a person. However, I typically always like and appreciate his movies. From the Mission Impossibles to the Jack Reachers. He just stars in, and produces great and entertaining movies.

This movie, unfortunately was one of the cheesiest and corniest I've ever seen. At the same time, it felt like a Disney production. (Not my cup of tea.)

It was predictable, stupid and cringe worthy at times. I have zero idea why the reviews are so good. I felt like it was insulting to my intelligence.

I hesitated to watch this movie for months because I expected it to be bad, but in the back of my mind I was hoping that I might be wrong about my expectations.

Expectations confirmed! Garbage movie. Tom needs to retire!

Don't Look Up (2021)

I could watch this movie over and over. It is awesome. But sadly the satirical nature of this movie is tragically true.

We live in an era where most people would rather watch a tik tok challenge than watch or learn anything about science, physics, or engineering.

Because of social media and sometimes even main stream media, society has been reduced to validating ones life through likes, clicks, and comments.

If you didn't like this movie, its either because you are stupid, naive, apathetic, ignorant, self-centered, or a trump supporter.

This movie is not even about politics. Its actually just about science and how ridiculous humans are today.

The Gray Man (2022)

Almost turned it off after 20 minutes. Gave it another 10. Game over!

I just couldn't get past the writing. It was beyond bad.

Not sure what is wrong with people but this movie is at least a 6.

I admit there are some cheesy moments but even some Oscar winners have those. I can also say that this movie had no emotional impact whatsoever, but it was made to entertain. Not to make you cry. That being said, I've seen way worse movies with better ratings. So I don"t understand all the hate.

Script aside, the acting is good. The graphics are awesome. The cast is awesome.

Its not the most scientifically sound but its not outlandish either.

I cant help but to wonder if the lead actors were replaced by Tom Holland and Zendaya that the rating would be significantly better.

Maybe that is the superficial world we live in.

Just because there is a ton of hype, and social media influencers saying its amazing doesnt mean it is.

Nothing anyone hasnt seen before.

Its not a bad movie, but its target audience is millennials and under. Way too much CGI for my liking. The movie's attempt to evoke any emotional feelings failed and it was difficult to stay engaged. It was all very generic and unremarkable.

This is one of the rare times i agree more with the legit critics rather than the users.

Its not a 10. But certainly not a 5.5 either.

I dont know what people expect anymore. I wonder if its an ADHD thing.

The characters were good. Good story and writing too.

Sure its a slow burn but not a waste of time in my opinion.

A movie that is worth 1 out of 10 I would turn off within 5 minutes. I watched this flick from start to finish. You could even say i enjoyed it. I dont understand all the hate. Its not the best nor worst movie Ive seen. Its just a fun horror movie.

Good writing. Good acting. Good production. Sadly thats all it has. The story is so unbelievable and has so many holes its almost funny. The end is unsatisfying and just justifies the disappointment you feel throughout the whole show.

I made it through 40 minutes and finally shut it down. Not even remotely interesting or engaging. I was really hoping that something about it would draw me in because i love sci-fi. Maybe i needed to give it more time but i wasnt about to find out. The story wasnt compelling. The characters were boring and 2 dimensional. See for yourself.

Ill give credit where credit is due... good acting. Well done. Good writing. Otherwise a yawner If they could have condensed this movie to 90 minutes it might have been alright. Its not about a short attention span... its about keeping my attention. And at that it failed.

This show had potential but its is just boring AF. If maybe they added some non-adventurists, some regular people, or some dispisable people it might have been entertaining. Sadly this race is a bunch of boring people that think tubing down some ravine makes them cool and interesting but more likely they just dont fit anywhere in society. At the same time Bear Grylls is probably one of the most annoying personalities on the planet.

This is actually a refreshingly good movie. In a time where everyone wants to poke holes in movies, this movie simply delivers a good time. It doesnt take itself too seriously but offers good acting and a good story. Its not trying to win oscars, its just entertaining and thats what we pay for as far as im concerned. Those of you that give it a bad rating should stick to your melodramtic movies. This movie is fun and i wish studios would make more along the same lines. People really need to stop being so damn critical.
