The IT Crowd (2006–2013)

Disappointing
19 July 2011
I started watching The IT Crowd because of some strong advice from a friend, who loved the show very much and kept on saying how brilliant it is. I must say I'm completely disappointed with the show. First of all, the script is just plain awful. I mean, I like absurd stuff, I don't look for 'reality' in everything. But, this show is just out of bounds. The company seems to be run by completely insane people. You'd at least expect the IT guys to show some decent intelligence, right? They act like a bunch of idiots around ant yet, they keep saying the "Have you tried turning it off and on again?" line all the time. Secondly, the acting is very very poor, too. I think this show could be taught in acting schools as an example of overacting. I wanted to strangle the actors half the time I was watching as they think the only way of communication is yelling around in the room. Lastly, the laugh effects make the things even worse. So, if you haven't seen this show yet. Save your time and don't!

One of a kind

Warning: Spoilers
I'm surprised this movie hasn't gotten much attention from IMDb users. I believe it's one of the best movies from Turkish cinema. The script is very original, the acting is amazing, the music is also very good; in my opinion.

One can observe many problems of 1970's Turkey, and surprisingly some of these still occur. For example the conservative minds of 'villagers', they lack self confidence against people from the 'city'. But when they have a chance, they reject the 'city' person from their life; thinking the 'traditional' ways of their lives will be interrupted.

Warning: Spoilers
OST album for this movie is one of the best albums ever made in Turkey, in my opinion. All tracks were made by Erkan Ogur, a Turkish musician playing many different instruments making Turkish folk music and Jazz. The tracks are very effective on the feelings given by movie when they are heard. I recommend this movie and the OST album to every single IMDb user, not only Turkish users but everyone from the world.

Unfortunately, despite the awards the movie has taken, the movie wasn't watched by many people in Turkey. This is why I always think the movie has always been underrated. It tells about many different problems faced by Turkish people, so one could find something from himself on the movie. Even if that doesn't happen, you would put yourself in the shoes of the main characters and see how little things affect your whole fate.
