The Rookie: Feds (2022–2023)

PAINFUL TO WATCH !!
23 May 2023
As a big fan of THE ROOKIE, I expected this spinoff to be similar. Was I so wrong ! This is a Police/FBI drama for goodness sake, not a tacky 'try hard' comedy. I love Nash as an actor, but her character just ruins every episode.

Talking over superiors, bursting into case briefings, making her own rules ? What the heck ?

Coming from a family of police officers and two detectives, this woman would be turned back and told to wear something more appropriate if she wants to represent her Precinct with some dignity.

I was really looking forward to add this to my Weekly Watch List, but no. It's a big miss from me.

AN ABSOLUTE MESS !!

Stick to THE ROOKIE ..

Crossfire (2022)

SUCH A DISAPPOINTMENT
14 December 2022
Warning: Spoilers
So many great actors, was really looking forward to watching Crossfire.

When I saw the trailer of a group of friends and their children going on a holiday, where they witnessed people dressed in black shooting anyone, I was absolutely keen to watch.

But a lot of what happens is so far fetched like :

  • guests chatting loudly to each other, when there's 2 gunmen in the resort hunting people.

  • banging up and down stairs with the loudest of high heel shoes to hide ? Wouldn't you take them off ?

  • one father hides in his bathroom, leaving his children to fend for themselves outside, locking his hotel door.'
  • woman has sexy texting with another man THEN gives her mobile to her husband to use ???

Really could have been a great storyline, but the minor stories just spoil what could have been brilliant.

A real shame :(

DEFINITELY WORTH THE WATCH
10 December 2022
Warning: Spoilers
As a Brit myself, I shake my head at people who fall for all the rubbish that our tabloids pump out. But then again, if our tabloids didn't have the British Monarchy, they'd have nothing. So it makes sense for them to feed dribble to make all the arm chair critics wild beyond their means lol. There's a lot in this documentary that the tabloids didn't have access to (well done H&M) from facts to beautiful family photos/videos to interviews. Lovely family, lovely children - keep doing what you're doing. Great documentary with zero British Tabloid involvement - this is what makes it truly refreshing.

The Walking Dead (2010–2022)

JUST NOT LIKE THE COMICS
23 January 2018
I've been a fan of The Walking Dead comics long before the show was born. So what a buzz it was to hear they were bringing it to the screen. The zombies, the fear factor, the great story lines, and then there's the great characters. But I think after Season 5, something changed. The shock factor and varied storylines just aren't there anymore like it is in the comics. I know new characters have been added for TV, but with the abundance of people on the show, it really loses any in-depth time that should be spent on a specific storyline. Especially Since Negan arrived in S7 & S8, his character is just a snore-fest now, unlike the ballsy Negan from the comic series. Let's hope they allow this brilliant group of actors be who they were 3 seasons ago. Will always be a fan of brothers Earl and Daryl though, should never have killed Earl off .. absolute Legend of a character

Wisdom of the Crowd (2017–2018)
GREAT CONCEPT
23 January 2018
Simple and to the point ... really enjoyed this short lived series. I do not compare TV Drama to real life, that's what the news is for. And exactly why I enjoy TV shows so I can escape away from the outside world for a while. Enjoyed Jeremy Piven's character and also the nerdy chemistry between the computer technicians, was a laugh to watch. Richard T Jones was super cool as the Detective, and different to see Monica Potter play such a serious character. Sadly, due to the show being cancelled, we won't get to see the outcome .. WAHHHH

Gone (I) (2017–2018)
GREAT STORYLINE .. SHAME ABOUT THE ACTRESS
23 January 2018
Was really looking forward to watching GONE, especially with the experience of Noth and Pino. The idea of a rescued child abductee being offered a job to join a Special Task Force Team only because she was abducted as a child, was a bit far fetched. But thought will still give it a go. And gee, what a drag Leven Rambin's character is. Sorry but her bad acting is just atrocious for the character she portrays. Being a self defence instructor is bad enough to watch, but giving a kid a gun that she has absolutely no idea how to use, she takes charge bursting into houses . Just cannot get past how this actress hasn't even been taught how to use a gun, yet alone handle one. A real shame as all the other actors fit into GONE superbly. Chris Noth is just so chill and classy, would be so much better if he was given more of the lead, I mean he is the boss after all.
