Paranormal Activity: The Ghost Dimension (2015)
I've seen episodes of Dark Shadows scarier than this.
Here is a rhetorical question for you. Why is it that directors and producers feel the need to ruin movies with horrendous CGI. Some of the best movies ever produced didn't have to rely on CGI. Examples like Psycho or Frankenstein were psychologically frightening.
I mean, I dont want to sell this movie short. It's not just the lack of creativity that made this terrible. The anti-uniqueness wasv compounded by terrible scripts, no direction, and cringe-worthy acting worse.
It's pretty bad when you are so divested that you could care less if any character meets a torturous demise.
This sloppy mess isn't even a derailment. It's a full-fledged train wreck. Terrible design, terribler plot, and terriblest acting.
Will someone do us all a favor and put this series to rest.
Shooter (2016)
Good series, but a little convoluted and Hollywoodish
The Shooter is action packed and exciting. I like the acting and the characters. However, it has that cliche Hollywood feel to it...bombastic and convoluted, and vaguely realistic. There are far to many last minute saves and rescues. This detracts from its realism. It feels like you are watching Final Destination, with the characters hyper-vigilant and ridiculously intuitive to their situations. The protagonists are always one step ahead of the game. That being said, it does keep you engaged.
Office Space (1999)
TPS Interrupted
I mean, all I can say is that this movie is hysterical and brilliant. Great cast. Anyone who has ever worked in an office environment will worship this movie.
Law & Order: Criminal Intent: Identity Crisis (2009)
Excellent and Complicated episode.
Let me start out by saying I absolutely love D'Onofrio in his role. Like 90% of LOCI episodes, this particular episode is my favorite because it is really complicated and it takes Goren's skills to navigate through the web of lies and deceit to find the truth. However, what is interesting is that you know right away who the main antagonist is; it's a matter of Goren & Eames peeling back the complex layers of lies to discover the motive and build a case.
Hazel (1961)
She gives me anxiety
Shirley Booth must have truly been a talented actress. Her performance in Hazel was so good, I could only watch it in small doses. She played Hazel so annoyingly well. I know her character was supposed to be an annoying and meddling maid, but I really could not watch it too often.
Perry Mason (1957)
Good luck ever finding an attorney like Perry Mason!
****NO SPOILERS....🚦****
Perry Mason is a brilliantly written and acted crime drama that follows the cases of an incredibly astute, competent, and altruistic attorney and his support staff.
The synergy between the main characters is awesome. Raymond Burr was a gift from God, as both an actor and a human being. Barbara Hale, William Hopper, William Talman, and Ray Collins are perfect in their respective roles.
The writing, production and directing are brilliant. The episodes contain humor, sarcasm, and drama. I have yet to find a plot hole or even a glaring error. The cases are interesting. The only cons to the series are that some cases are too confusing, and some of the acting by minor characters is a little overly dramatic.
Obviously, things have changed since 1957, but Perry Mason remains timeless.
