Old (2021)
pretty good i enjoyed it
I'm usually critical and was afraid this movie would be like those movies that have an ambigious ending (they are so annoying) left to interpetion ugh, but it had a good ending, sort of. I like the cinematography and the actors did a good job acting the parts, that crazy doctor guy was creepy, it intrigued me and usually i don't like m nights movies because theyre so slowpaced but this one wasnt too slow so I'd watch again but not buy. Thumbs up from me.
The Little Things (2021)
A W E F U L
Boring as hell. It was like law and order only even more dragged out. I turned it off after a while. Reading the spoilers it looks like the killer is ambigous. WTH awful horrid movie. EW.
Outback (2019)
Silly couple goes goofing off into the outback with no water
Typical brain dead couple goes into outback with no water, the guy was the worst one though. Get this, he drinks antifreeze thinking its water, then his pee! Gross!!! He leaves the car lights on cuz he's so idiotic and his gf cries becuase she wants to marry him. Are couples really are so stupid...want the time spent back. And money. Just watch I Survived instead.
Underwater (2020)
Really meh
The look was ok but the writing and acting was super boring. The screenplay writer should retire . I don't reccomend this to anyone.
Don't Let Go (2019)
just meh
Not good but not bad. It only got thrilling towards the end. The constant screaming from the girl was horrible though. The director must've told her, "scream and keep screaming, scream again and again LOUDER". Honestly her shrieking was grating. I know it was supposed to show her horror but still. Jeez. Anyway the plot was meh, cliche plot of time travel to save the future. Plus the villian turning out to be the partner drug dealing corrupt cop of the hero is very cliche. Can't hollyweird write something else?
Serenity (2019)
really bad and weird, disappointing
LIke the title says. Don't waster your time and money on this $h!t. Basically it's one of those "it was all a dream" endings. The plot is about this boy who's dad died and was a supergenius so he decided to put his dad in a computer game (wtf???) and have him fishing. His mom is being abused by his stepdad so after playing he goes and stabs him. Realllly weird, since most of the movie is just his dad doing chicks. So did he program his dad doing chicks? Realllly weird!!! Anyway this is a pass and I regret renting it. The writer and director deserves smacking.
Teacher (2019)
best movie I've seen in a loooooooong time
I wasn't expecting much, thinking it was going to be some corny melodrama. However I think everyone should own this movie. It had great acting by everyone. The plot is kind of corny, typical boy gets bullied, bully's father bullies the bully, so the bully lashes out. I'll give a summary since wikipedia doesn't have a page.
Basically it's about the main character, James Lewis, who was bullied as a kid by his dad and classmates and had a dysfunctional home. He grows up to be a an english teacher, and is going thru a nasty divorce, is an alcoholic, and is pretty depressed. 2 of the nerds in his class are being horribly bullied by Tim, who's on the baseball team. He gets reprimanded, but his rich father excuses and buys him out everytime. James relives the past of when he was a victim and spirals down.
When one of the nerds gets badly beat up by Tim's friends and the other nerd attempts suicide, James snaps and kidnaps Tim at gunpoint. He takes him to a secluded meadow and demands that he confess to bullying the nerds. TIm refuses and James kicks him. Tim begs for mercy and admits to being bullied by his dad. He shoes James the scars on his soles where his dad burns him and James is stunned. He takes TIm back to his home, call 911, and them enters the house. Tim's dad punches TIm across the face and James points a gun at him. He demands to know why Bernie (tim's dad ) abuses his son. Bernie says that he controls by fear and demands James to shoot him. James doesn't and Bernie grabs a hidden gun and shoots James. The police come and arrest James.
James now teaches in a prison.
I guess bernie told the police that James attacked him for no reason. Pretty disappointing ending but the acting was superb
Traffik (2018)
Best one I've seen in a LONG time
It had me on the edge of my seat. Paula Patton was excellent in this thriller and made everyone else seem like kids. Omar Epps, wasn't as good. Shame, since he's so good on House. The guy who played their friend, Darren, was good at playing a bigmouthed douche. The others were meh. Anyway Paula really made me root for her, which I hardly ever do. Don't know why this isn't rated higher. I guess others either don't like or are sick of trafficking movies? Well, it shouldn't be any surprise since it's right there in the title! Well, I'm a Paula Patton fan, she's so beautiful and talented so I guess I'm a bit biased heh.
Breaking In (2018)
not so great
I was disappointed. The actors were just ok. Not too great in fact. There were some suspense but not a lot. Typical mom wants to protect her children cliche. Yawn. Lots of movie mistakes. Like when the psycho Mexican gets run over by a car and walks around stabbing like it's nothing. Is he on drugs? I heard cocaine can make you not feel pain...
Midnight Sun (2018)
sad
Made me cry cuz there was no happy ending, i prefer happy endings. The actors were ok, arnie's son was kind of wooden like him LOL but it's all good. Cute and would watch again.
Game Night (2018)
would watch again
It was a cute movie and i got some laughs out of it. would watch again but not rent. there were some goofs but it was good.
The Commuter (2018)
slow
It was slow for an action film at first but had some really good action scenes. nothing great though. liam neeson seems kind of monotonous though. lots of plot holes that'll leave u frustrated.
Stronger (2017)
was ok
Jake gyllenhall did a good job. but the plot was pretty much cliche and predictable. lovable idiot gets maimed, suffers from ptsd, turns into a jerk, yells at everyone, and then finally realizes that he isn't the only one suffering in the world. he then turns into good guy and girl throws herself at him (cuz she's pregnant).
Yawn.
The Last Word (2017)
cute
I was pretty surprised, i don't like amanda seyfried (sp) she must have a really good agent because she is ugly and a bad actor, but in this she was pretty good. it's a pretty cliche movie about old hag who is lonely, and becomes nice with the help of nice youngsters. she "sees the light". But it was really cute and touching. I didn't like the soundtrack though. Too boring
East Side Sushi (2014)
so so
A cute movie but would not watch again because it's so predictable. single Latina mother, trying to eke out a living, nasty ppl all pushing her down. still it has a good msg, pointing out the sexism in restaurants. I've worked in restaurants before and there's a lot of discrimination. boring ending though
Beatriz at Dinner (2017)
a bit boring
Salma's acting was actually good in this one. she plays a healing hippie who hates all animals getting hurt, and then starts yelling crazy towards a snobby arrogant jon Lithgow, because he killed a rhino. she dreams about stabbing his neck cuz she's so mad, and it turns out her pet goat died earlier that day. then she hops into a cab and drives to the beach and in a trance hops into the ocean. really...bizarre? they should call it Girl who Went Crazy and Commited Suicide. the ending left me with a what the he11 feeling. I didn't like it. wouldn't watch it again nor recommended unless you're really bored.
The Mountain Between Us (2017)
nothing much, watch something else
No chemistry btwn the lovers, I've seen more at a dried up funeral. she just seemed a real nag in here, not likeable at all. he was just ok. the ending was pretty bland. if you're expecting a passionate romance, look elsewhere.
Accident Man (2018)
really bad
Corny, cheesy, bad acting, save your eyes and look at something else.
I Do... Until I Don't (2017)
really bad
Whoever made this must have money to burn, it sucked. the characters were boring and predictable, save your hard earned money and watch something else.
