Filth City (2017)
Not a good movie, not that funny, not dramatic, not entertaining
There are a few funny moments in the film, but they're just moments. The story is absurd, but it's more in the realm of crazy and surreal rather than hilarious.
Calling it "low-budget" doesn't excuse the weak script. How much does it cost for paper? I know that time to write a screenplay is not free, but seriously, write a good script before you start shooting. Everything else was done well - the visuals, the sound, etc. But no amount of money could make this script into something good or funny.
Avoid.
I, Tonya (2017)
Amazing film, never thought I'd love a movie about figure skating
The acting was amazing, casting too, the story multilayered and fascinating, props, locations, etc. fit in perfectly. The editing was smart, kept the story moving even if the film was on the long side (not a criticism). The drama was dramatic, the comedy funny. The music was also on point.
This is not a 10/10 film, but it does not have a -2 from a perfect 10. It is not perfect, but I don't remember any major flaws. They did the best they could with the story they had.
I highly recommend it, even for people that hate sports movies.
