Feast (2005)
Painful
I had high hopes and they were dashed from the moment the director chose to give each character a screen-shot with their expected mortality. The laughs were few and far between and the frights came even less. I've seen college movies done better. And why oh why was Jason Mewes in this playing himself???? Some of the actors did their best with what was a lousy script and at least looked like they were having fun (kudos to Henry Rollins...work them pink sweatpants) but other than scream and get sprayed with blood there wasn't a lot going on. The few moments that seemed like an attempt to have something substantial happen to a character were squashed pretty quickly. Oh well, all in all disappointing after what seemed like a promising start on Project Greenlight (disclosure, I only saw about three episodes).
Bring It On: All or Nothing (2006)
Bury The Pom-Poms, Please
This was terrible, mean-spirited, and full of the worst clichés and racial stereotypes I've seen in a looong time. Seeing Hayden P trying to act "ghetto" was painful (hi, one pant leg up on yer sweats and some braids Downs't make you "down with the homies"). Solange Knowles pretty much grimaces through the entire movie. Most of the set sequences look like they were filmed in cardboard boxes...what was up with the finale??? And poor Rihanna was just plain exploited to get people to watch her "act", which she can't.
Put simply, this film Downs't even deserve one star. Please put this tired franchise to rest. Or at least make the next one Bring It On IV: Cheerleaders vs. Freddy & Jason.
