Transplant (2020)
Love this show
What a treat. It's tight, moving and entertaining. They tackle relevant issues with very little of the soap opera type stuff so common on similar shows. Like the whole cast, especially the lead. Kudos all around! Sorry I only have 3 episodes left to watch.
The Handmaid's Tale: The Word (2018)
Infuriating
The episode made me absolutely furious. I'm starting to not like June - how could she be so selfish? Now both of her kids are motherless. Stupid stupid stupid. Make Emily and everyone else responsible- uggh
The Comey Rule (2020)
Infuriating
Well this made me hate Comey all over again. The epithets flew fast and free during Part 1 - I am sure I was not alone. Holly Hunter, Comey's wife and AndReq McCabe were the most "real". I wasn't that impressed with the Trump portrayal. If accurate, every original Cabinet member is guilty of treason for not invoking the 25th amendment. Rosenstein comes off as a nervous weasel. He's also the one who told Mueller not to go into Trump's finances. Comey not only brought the country to its knees, he nearly destroyed his beloved FBI. As Hillary said "I believe in karma more every day".
Zoey's Extraordinary Playlist (2020)
I love it
Only one episode to go on but I love this show so far. Like a mini-musical with great songs and great singers. Zoe is adorable and seems perfect for the role. Honestly, I laughed out loud, I cried, and really enjoyed the numbers. A feel good show for sure. Can't wait for the next one. FYI, I rarely write reviews.
American Odyssey (2015)
promising
1st episode was quite good. I already care about what will happen to several of the characters and the suspense held my attention. Definitely worth a watch.
I love the themes of corporate and government immorality vs true heroism.
Looking forward to the next episode. It does remind me of Homeland a little bit, but faster-paced. Very few programs rise to the level of that quality.
Why IMDb.com forces a reviewer to write ten lines of Text is a mystery - that's a little much! What else can I say _ try it!
Mr. Nobody (2009)
can time go back to before I watched this?
I found this very frustrating. An interesting premise weighed down by too many offshoots and holes in the plot. How about this - if you're searching for someone who lives in the same city, pick up a phone instead of hanging out at the train station. If your wife is obviously disturbed, get her some help instead of just staring into her eyes. How about looking for some meaning OUTSIDE of the object of your affection? Could have been special, but it wasn't. Jared Leto, the boys who played the younger versions of him, and Ana were beautiful to look at - otherwise, a big waste of time for me.
IMDb - if that isn't a long enough review, you need to change you policy on 10 lines.
Benched (2014)
Funny and Smart
I don't know what's wrong with these other reviewers.
This is way better than "Bad Judge", which I really wanted to like.
The lead has great comic timing and the rest of the cast shoes promise.
Just the fact that the stand-up comic Maria Bamford is in the cast makes it worth watching.
I laughed a lot during the first episode, and there are signs that there will be some heart along with the laughs.
Good comedies are hard to come by - give it a chance.
I don't know why IMDb request ten lines of text for a review! It's just not necessary!
12 Years a Slave (2013)
I feel hoodwinked
This is the first review I've ever posted, but I saw this last night with a friend and we were both pretty disappointed. This is nowhere near the caliber of "A Color Purple". The story felt somewhat disjointed and I just didn't "feel" most of the characters. Michael Fassbender was excellent. The girl who played Patsy was quite good, but her part was really not big enough to warrant an Oscar. Chiwetel, who I like a lot, just didn't quite get the ball past the goal line. The complexity of emotion that one would expect from his character wasn't quite flushed out. The final scene felt restrained and unrealistic to me. I cannot believe that this won Best Picture. My advice - save your money and wait until it comes out on cable.
