Trying to keep an open mind
18 August 2022
To avoid spoilers I'll just touch on a few bullet points here of the issues that I had with this episode.

*Poor Writing/cliche dialog

*Bad Pacing/Directing

*Sloppy CGI

*Bad acting

This seems like it was slapped together in a few months with no real thought, Mark Ruffalo is really phoning this one in too. I've always been a fan of his take on Hulk but he's not even trying here. It sounds like he went into a studio for an hour or two and just recorded some lines.

I'm going to try to keep and open mind with the rest of this series but it's not off to a good start.

Near perfect
18 June 2022
Warning: Spoilers
I'm gonna keep this short and sweet, FAM is back and it's just as good as I remember it. Apart from the Danny/Karen storyline this was a very entertaining episode.

Also they played "Fly me to the moon" which is always a win.

Obi-Wan Kenobi: Part IV (2022)
Season 1, Episode 4
5/10
Produced for children.
8 June 2022
Warning: Spoilers
After The Mandalorian my hope for any future Star Wars project was restored, surely this show would not only live up to it but exceed it right? Unfortunately while writing this review I can't even think of any talking points because of how forgettable this episode was. Nevertheless I'll try to summarize some of he issues I had with this episode.

Everything was way to easy, the got in that fortress like it was nothing.

Character's hear things one moment then can't the next. No one in that room heard her brawling with the officer but a couple storm troopers heard the radio in the next scene? Okay

Reva interrogates a 10 year old like she's an adult, and young Leia's dialog doesn't fit her age either.

Tala hits a storm troopers helmet with her hand and he is so affected by this he stands there stunned while she grabs the other ones gun then shoots him. Choreography department where are you?

Tala and Obi-Wan walk through a base on high alert with Leia hiding in his trench coat and no one notices...

2 more episodes left... Hopefully they'll be stand outs but I doubt it.

I actually liked Karen before this...
25 April 2022
Not to get into spoilers, but I feel this episode was made for you to sympathize with her character. But for me it had the opposite effect, Karen was not a good person. The entitlement she shows in the episode really turns me away from her character.

The Batman (2022)
8/10
Missed opportunity
19 April 2022
First of let me just say I was pleasantly surprised about Robbert Pattison's portrayal of Batman. When I saw that he was cast I didn't think he fit the role. But I've never been more happy to be proven wrong, and I'd love to see more of Pattinson as Batman.

The cinematography was also top notch, better than anything I've seen in a long time. The design of the suit, the sets, and the bat mobile we're just awesome.

Now for the bad stuff, I always enjoy a longer movie but they probably could've cut about 20-30 minutes of content and it would've improved the film. Don't get me wrong the slow pacing is good but some of the scenes just felt unnecessarily drawn out. The writing was good in the first half, but the third act didn't do it for me.

Perfect way to end the show.
14 March 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Though I do wish it wasn't canceled and there was more seasons, this was a perfect ending to this amazing show.

Having Virginia's father come back to reconcile was great, it left a sour taste in my mouth last time when he left the show. Then the plot twist of him giving Virginia her dream wedding was done so well.

And of course the wedding itself was beautiful, having Loggins come in and sing "Danny's song" immediately brought tears to my eyes.

They really need to make a movie.

The "southern" accent is horrendous
20 February 2022
The actress playing Rosa is genuinely terrible, her "southern" accent sounds like she has oenit butter in her mouth the entire time,

Honestly how hard is it to just get an American actress to play the role instead of having Brit trying to imitate one of the greats.

How is it this bad.
14 February 2022
I'm on another rewatch of the show and just got to series 11 again, it's truly incredible how far the quality fell in such a short period of time.

The music is just dull now and isn't moving at all.

The shots are filmed so strangely it looks like a fan made episode.

The new Tardis interior is just... Bad, I've never really realized how horrible this new one was until my rewatch.

I hope the show will return to its former glory under RTD but so much of the creative talent is gone.

What the hell was that?
8 February 2022
Seriously? You call this an ending? This doesn't even feel like an ending to a season finale let alone an entire series.

I love this show so damn much and you go and butcher the ending.

Dying Light 2: Stay Human (2022 Video Game)
8/10
Solid Sequel
5 February 2022
This review is a bit pre-mature as I've yet to finish but here's a few stand outs of the game so far.

Parkour - This a major step up the from Dying Light 1. It takes everything you know and love about Dying Light's parkour and turns it up to 11. This is certainly the best parkour system I've seen in a fist person game.

Environment - While there are a few issues the environment is near perfect, everything has been designed around the parkour element so you'll always find a path on the rooftops of where you need to go.

Graphics - They are a major upgrade from the first game but for a 2022 game it does suffer is some areas. The lighting is not as good as most games nowadays and when you use the flashlight no shadow is cast. But my main issue with the graphics is the NPC's. The faces are very cartoony and the facial animation overall is not acceptable for a game released in 2022. With that said the story is not a major part of the Dying Light franchise so it is not a huge impact on the overall enjoyment of the game.

Performance - This is a bit of a mixed bag, the graphics settings are very limited so it's difficult to tweak it for optimal performance. It's not terrible but it's not great either. With my 1070ti and 9700k with 32gb of ram I was running at about 35-45 fps @1440p on medium to low settings. The game is poorly optimized and mid level systems will struggle to run it. But there is a solution, there is an option to lower the tender resolution then upscale it with post processing.

This takes my fps from about 40 to over 100, the downside is with a lower render resolution textures become blurry.

Combat - Combat has both improved and declined since the release of Dying Light 1. Human vs Human combat has significantly improved since the first game, the flow is much nicer and more defined than before. But Player vs zombie combat has taken a hit, the rag dolls that were in the previous game were pretty incredible. Hit a zombie in the leg and he falls over, kick them and they'll fly backwards and fall on the ground. Kick them into someone spikes and they'll go right through the zombie. Unfortunately with Dying light 2 the rag doll is almost nonexistent. Instead if plays one of several pre-canned animations depending on where you hit a zombie. This is fine at first but becomes very repetitive and apparent it's just repeating the same animations instead of the dynamic rag dolls in Dying Light 1.

Story - I will not be going over this as it's spoiler free and I've yet to finish it.

Conclusion - Overall this is a great sequel and addition to the Dying Light franchise, some of the things that I've mentioned can be fixed post launch and I sincerely hope that Techland does fix them as this has potential to be one of the best games of 2022.

Why do the writers think this is how court works.
31 January 2022
Warning: Spoilers
My god the court scenes are atrocious, so many things happened that would never happen in real life. I use to love this show but it really has gone down the drain on this last season.

David Tennant is outstanding.
21 January 2022
Warning: Spoilers
I'm currently on a rewatch of the entire series and this might be one of my favorite episodes mainly due to Tennant's acting.

The "Laws of time" speech is amazing , the amount of emotion he was able to deliver onscreen is truly incredible. He can seamlessly switch between comedy, pure rage, fear, and pain.

Please let this not be the end.
15 January 2022
This episode was fantastic, it was an amazing season finale and wrapped up the 2 season arc perfectly. But this doesn't really feel like a series finale, there's so much we still don't know and I want to see more of these characters I love them so damn much.

I really hope this is not the end of The Expanse, maybe a movie? Or a mini-series down the line? This show is just too good to be cut off at 6 seasons.

Please don't let this be the end.

Is this a great movie? No not really, but it is a very enjoyable movie to watch that has been memed to all hell for good reason. There are a lot of interesting directing choices in this film but I've never seen anything else's like it.

10/10 would watch again.

Oh come on writers, why must you do this to my soul. This was a very good episode, the character development for Ruby was amazing but Otis is being a knob again.

Please for the sake of my sanity writers, please stop making me like characters and have to watch Otis ruin it.

Jake should've left Amy on the spot
9 September 2021
Warning: Spoilers
This episode was very odd and out of character for Amy. Threatening to leave if someone doesn't want kids is not love. No healthy relationship has a "start over" plan. If you actually love someone you'd never threaten to leave them over something like this.

Terrible writing, did not match at all the character that was established for Amy and was ridiculous in general.

I normally hate musicals
29 May 2021
Like for real, I hate them. So much to the point where I was considering skipping this episode entirely. It just breaks the realism for me when they do musical episodes. It doesn't make any sense, but he way they did this was fantastic.

It's just not good
27 April 2021
Paul Rudd is the only redeeming quality of this show, the jokes aren't funny and the directing is very strange. The lack of Paul Rudd in this episode made it nearly unwatchable.

For All Mankind: The Grey (2021)

This was a redeeming episode for this season
23 April 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Wow, just wow. The previous episodes of the season have been pretty lackluster but they really hit their stride with this last one. This might be the most emotional episode of the series, we lost two of our favorite characters as well as a few others. But we also got that beautiful Apollo-Soyuz handshake in a time that the world needed it the most. Tracey and Gordo's death was tragic, and I'm going to miss both of them from here on out. But that might be the best send off possible for their characters, they both went out together saving the world. But I'd be lying if I wasn't balling my eyes out at the funeral.

Oh yeah and BOOTS ON MARS! Who got there first? Us or the soviets? Can't wait to find out next season!

The inaccuracies are incredibly disappointing
22 April 2021
I expected less scientific inaccuracies after I heard Scott Manley was consulting on this film. Unfortunately it seems like they ignored him, there's a ton of "scientific" nonsense throughout the entire movie. Oh well, I guess I'll just go rewatch Interstellar again.

Ted Lasso (2020–2023)
9/10
This show just makes me happy
15 April 2021
I don't know what I was expecting going in but it certainly wasn't this. Based off the Ads and Jason Sudeikis in the cast list I expected this to be a heartless comedy and oh boy I was wrong. While comedy is very much there it takes the backseat while the characters are at the forefront. Ted Lasso is an incredibly kind hearted man who truly cares about others. And he's no fool either, at first you begin to think he's just naive but as time goes on it becomes obvious that this is not the case. Jason Sudeikis has so much range in this role it's incredible, most people would find it difficult to convey a characters emotions that's smiling all the time yet if you pay attention to his eyes you'll always know how he feels. There is one particular scene which demonstrates this quite nicely, very few actors can achieve this and I certainly didn't expect this kind of performance from someone like Jason. Season 1 has been fantastic from start to finish and I cannot wait to see what's next.

If you're on the fence about watching this show just go for it, you will not be disappointed.

11 April 2021
There hasn't been a huge amount of laughs for me, but Teds unbroken enthusiasm is infectious. Not just to the characters of the show but to those who are watching as well. I really like the direction they're going with certain characters and I can't wait to see more!

For All Mankind: And Here's to You (2021)
Season 2, Episode 8

A solid episode brought down by a terrible scene
10 April 2021
Warning: Spoilers
The episode starts out strong with Gordo redeeming himself, the "Back in Black" sequence was incredible. The ending scene with the soviets on the moon was fantastic, really well done tension filled scene I can't wait to see where this goes next. But can we stop with the Danny, Karen storyline it's horrible. It's so weird, Danny was a CHILD last season and now they're developing a relationship between them. It knocked the episode down a star for me.
