Radhe (2021)
WHY ???
Salman Khan please STOP acting in movies. You are old like really old. I was a huge fan from Maine Pyar kiya types, and Bhagyashree's son is now an actor ! He should act with Disha and not Salman ! Take daddy roles please , HIGH TIME.
To All the Boys: Always and Forever (2021)
Loved !
So I am a big fan of American teenage romances. They are unrealistic however they are glamorous and feel good. They show you the school life which folks like me in India only dream of. No uniform , kissing in school, high school jocks, popular mean cheerleaders and always getting admissions in Stanford , Berkeley or the ivy leagues. This one was really sweet. I thoroughly enjoyed the mixed race lead played by Lana. Her acting was perfect. Noah overacted a bit with unnecessary brow raises and head tilts but was watchable. The sisters were good and dad was the best. It's one of those series which you always want more and more sequels cause they have a feel good factor. Fortunately the relationship wasn't shown to be toxic and forceful like the After series and Kissing booth. They are enjoyable and colourful. There is great chemistry between the lead actors. I personally wish that they do more movies together. Noah however needs to up himself in the acting game.
Fuller House (2016)
LOVEDDD It
So I am 31 and I have watched the OG show when I was a kid. I have sooo many memories attched to this show. I am glad they have kept the jokes pattern similar to the OG show. The kids do a fabulous job! DJ, Stefanie and Kimmy are just amazing with the older actors coming in and out of the show. There are a few sexual references and swearing but heyy arnt kids these days used to seeing it in most of the shows ? I am binge watching it in the Covid lockdown reminiscing my childhood memories. This show really puts a smile in these turbulent times.
Never Have I Ever (2020)
Binge watch
Well this is what happens to be when I am super bored. Binge watched an entire American teen Drama. Great to see a minority community twist to it.
Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior (2020)
Amazing !
Finally after getting throughout bored of chapaak , I went to watch Tanhaji. Honestly I was kinda bored to go for another Maratha Mughal fight after Bajirao and Panipat but guess what ! The movie is brilliant in every way! The cinematography, the sets , the story and the acting ! Saif, Kajol and Ajay all three were bloody brilliant. LOVED IT !! 11/10 from me
Chhapaak (2020)
Really terrible !
I being a fan of Deepika Padukone went with high hopes. The film drags, and drags and drags. I am convinced that only a director like Sanjay Leela Bhansali can bring out the best in Deepika. Went to sleep for a bit after the interval and was woken up after 10-15 minutes by my wife. In one word BORING. 1/10 stars from me !
Bala (2019)
Just amazing!
This one is not to be missed ! It's for people like me who suffer from alopecia ( balding in 20s) and suddenly the world goes upside down! Everyone who meets you is like - bhai tere Baal kaha Gaye. And I wish to say- I do at myself in the mirror everyday, thank you for rubbing it in my face. I was being called "of you look older than your age ". I started to lose my confidence, until I met my beautiful better half who was apparently absolutely ok with my bald patch. She never let me feel low about it. But not everyone is as lucky as me to get someone who loves you for the way you are! This movie is about hundreds of people like me who are body shamed for being bald, black(tu kaala/ kaali hai) , fat or not so good looking . Society has to change and people me need to realise that there are things way above materialistic looks of an individual. Kudos to Ayushman and Bhumi for portraying such powerful characters with grace and dignity !!
Kalank (2019)
A beautiful attempt!
I think the sets were elaborate, lot of efforts were taken on the look of the film. Varun Dhawan totally convinces you as Zafar. Alia looks ethereal. Sanjay Dutt, Aditya and Sonakshi all have acted their finest. The best was Madhuri Dixit. She's like a painting , dances like a goddess. The music, acting , costumes, everything is toooo good. The story could have been worked out a little more on and the movie drags in bits , however the romance is intense. Definitely a one time watch!! Guys you must give this movie a chance!
Raazi (2018)
Beautiful
Such a beautiful film! Alia looks marvellous. The acting is just PERFECT. She's proven that she can do a film or any genre and excel at any role. From Shanaya in SOTY to Sehmat! Simply OUTSTANDING ! And hats off to Meghana Gulzar to give our hindi film industry such a masterpiece :)
