Wish (2023)
Everyone is amazing & important, with boring music
Boring, slow, and tries too hard. The all inclusive nature of everyone matters is shoved down your throat, while lacking any kind of story. The animation is uninspired. The music is flat and boring. This movie lacks any sort of real life situation that one can identify with or laugh at. The humor falls flat and feels so forced. Disney really missed the mark with character development here. Even the movement of the characters seems robotic and flat, did AI animate this movie? I seriously had a tough time staying awake. I paused it after a half hour, tried to come back a few days later & still couldn't get through it in its entirety.
Renfield (2023)
A role tailor fit for Nic
My goodness this movie exceeded my expectations. Viewed best with friends, you will be giggling and gasping. It opened with some nostalgic nods to black & white horror flicks then jumps right into 2023 era action. The CGI is carefully crafted in order to add but not distract. The pace of the action scenes teeter beautifully on the line of what all your eyes can comprehend at once. The casting was also masterfully handled. With an age old concept, they were able to breath fresh life and a completely original story with this film that tickles the senses and stirs the mind. Just when you think they are trying to inject an agenda or moral, a back hand comes in and smacks your funny bone. I really wasn't sure what to expect going in but left one of my new favorite films of all time.
Death on the Nile (2022)
Nice music and interesting scenery. Everything else, meh.
The story is incredibly predictable. I knew the ending before the action had barely begun. Some of the acting is terrible. It really did feel like a high school play in many parts. Scenes were drawn out way too long. I did enjoy the music and and the scenery though.
Friendsgiving (2020)
Awful, couldn't even finish the last half hour
Poorly written. Awkward and forced relationships. Boring story. Such a waste of time. When I got towards the last quarter of the movie, I couldn't care less how it ended or what happened to the under developed and misdirected characters.
