The House with a Clock in Its Walls (2018)
Another classic ruined!
GOOD GAWD WAS THIS TRASH!!! If you love the book do not see this movie! Eli Roth screwed this up so badly that it is almost unrecognizable as John Bellaires's masterpiece. Go read the book, read it to your kids, but do not watch this sorry excuse for a film.
The Curse of Oak Island (2014)
A STEAMING PILE OF CRAP!
This show is insulting to my intelligence, annoying to the point of distraction and so repetitive that if you turned it into a drinking game, you'd be dead in the first 10 minutes! The narration will make you want to kill somebody and the characters act so stupid it's amazing they don't hurt themselves getting out of bed. In the first season some plausible theories were explored, but as of the 5th season they have been delving into the always profitable Knights Templar conspiracy theory. In one episode a so called "metal detecting expert" called a railroad spike a 16th century Spanish galleon deck nail! And now there are rumors floating around that the Lead Cross they "found" at Smith's Cove is a fake planted by the production company! The only enjoyable part is the Kook of the week segment where some nutcase explains his or her hairbrained theory about who hid the treasure. They are even speculating that Canada was named by the templars after a village in France!
Don't waste your time on this sorry excuse for a show, it spreads pseudo history, peddles conspiracy theories, flogs fake artifacts and is exactly the kind of disgraceful garbage that the history channel spews out today!
The Curse of Civil War Gold (2018)
Less a crock of gold and more a crock of lies
The show is insulting to my intelligence, repetitive to the point of nausea and filled with more lies and fake artifacts than the Piltdown Man museum.
There is no evidence to support any of the dubious claims made on this sorry excuse for a "reality" show, the characters act like morons and spout tired catchphrases left over from the other show, Choke Island.
Another fine point, the lead treasure hunter, Kevin Dykstra is we are told, an experienced diver and knows what he is doing. Why the heck did he jump off a ladder rather than the perfectly usable platform right next to it! I myself have been diving and watched that segment in total disbelief, it was the stupidest thing I've seen on tv in a long time.
