John Mulaney Presents: Everybody's in LA (2024)
I love John Mulaney and this is so much fun! It's over and I want more!
This is a fabulous cluster f@!k! I love every chaotic moment of this show. There seemed to be a definite plan that we were aspiring to and what we received was nothing like what was intended and I am totally okay with that. A showcase of the most wonderful ADHD squirreling that still managed to stay on topic and on schedule. There are so many great guests that were bewilderingly and meanderingly fun. The call ins were derailing in the best way possible. I loved the topics and the the experts that they were able to gather. The video clips were well crafted. Absolutely delightful and crammed packed with activities! I want more!!
I'm in Dallas, TX and I drive a 2016 Ford C-Max Hybrid SEL.
Moonfall (2022)
Highly Entertaining, Highly Far Fetched. The Blob for the space age with a $150,000,000 budget
So silly and far fetched, but entertaining in a way that B movies are. I would actually rewatch this. The visuals are great, if totally unrealistic. Eme Ikwaukor even gives a performance reminiscent of Karen Black, or Rebecca De Mornay. I totally didn't buy-in to the concept, but I found myself gripping my jacket and gasping for air at a few points. I laughed , my heart raced, I was surprised, and I was relieved at the predictable far fetched ending. My expectations were completely diverted and I am totally ok with that. Fun time at the movies with my son that lead to a discussion afterwards that was equally entertaining. Time well spent.
Thelma & Louise (1991)
Endlessly rewatchable
I worked in a tiny 3 screen movie theater inside a mall when this movie came out and I must've seen it several times a week that Summer of 1991. I have watched every now and again since and most recently tonight. It never gets old. I the strength and vulnerability of each one of the well developed characters. All of the woulda coulda shouldas are brilliantly executed. I identify with the characters' misguided choices and just wanting to keep driving until it all turns to dust. Every time that I drive across the desert I hear "the eyes of Lucy Jordan" The mall was torn down and the movie theater company was bought out. I am now older than the leading ladies were when they made the film and the story is still just as relevant as it was when I was 19. My perspective has simply evolved the climate has changed, and hopefully I can make some better choices in light of it all.
Three Wives, One Husband (2014)
WOW
I was so intrigued by this lifestyle already and I loved being able to get a glimpse into these people's lives. It was so well done gaining insight into each individual person's mindset, struggles, hopes, and visions for their family. I have been fortunate to know several Mormons and have never met a Fundamentalist Morman that practices plural marriage. This piece was done in such a way that I feel as though I know and understand them on a deeper level. Beautiful. Heard. Respected.
