National Treasure (2004)

You can watch this movie again and again and again..........

This movie was a nice surprise. The story is very entertaining, things are explained well and it might even leave you wanting to do a little research on your own. Cage was his dry humorous self and the cast of characters around him was well matched. It has humor and suspense and just a bit of danger. It would be hard to get tired of this movie. All of the places they visit are real and they make it sound so plausible. It is nice to see a good, clean adventure flick. I can say that I have seen this movie at least 5 time or more. I always stop to watch it even when I have it on just for background noise while I am hanging out around the house. I would recommend this movie to anyone, unless you hate US history or hate Nicholas Cage. Other than that I think you would really enjoy National Treasure.

Sahara (2005)

Best Saturday afternoon, nothing to do movie!

I have watched this movie at least 5 times since it was released on video. It is one of the movies that is constantly entertaining. The soundtrack is great and I also agree that the chemistry between the actors was perfect. I would watch this duo again in another film. I'll put this movie on when I am cleaning the house or doing laundry. Every time I end up sitting down and watching most of it. As another viewer commented it is a lot like National Treasure(which I also give high mark). They are both easy to watch, they wrap things up nicely and leave you feeling like you went on the adventure! What else could you ask from a movie...

The Dark (2005)

Could have been great, no answers and the ending disappoints!

Starts off with a great story. Its suspenseful and shot very well. The acting is great. Then things just start to fall apart. The end of the movie makes it not worth watching. Writers try too hard to twist things one way and then twist things another way. How many time do we as movie watchers have to complain before someone listens? This movie would have been a 9 or 10 if they either, let the mother and the daughter live, or if the daughter lived and the mother died. This movie leave the mother dead(or trapped between worlds) and the daughter is completely missing. We don't know if she is dead and gone to heaven or if she is trapped with her mother. I know actors need to get paid like everyone else, but I really wish that someone somewhere would just say, enough. Can we please have a quality story. People like happy endings, people like sad endings. but most of all, people like endings. We have enough stray ends in our own lives. We watch movies to step away and have a mini break from reality. When movies end more frazzled that they began it is very unsatisfying. They could have changed the last 5 minutes of this movie and had something really good but, they gave us really bad.

Octane (2003)

this movie left me asking so many questions i wish i never watched it my boyfriend said that it was like a mtv movie for teens there was no information about the "father" is he the devil? is Nat so stupid that she is going to go with this guy even after she sees him slice his own tongue? what cult? it was like 6 people. the movie was not developed enough to be pleasing. it could have been much better with a little effort. of course madeline stowe was great and usual. and I was surprised with ms. bartons acting. if you don't mind drawing your own conclusions about every character in this movie go ahead and give it a try. please don't expect much more that small attempt to be semi erotic with the blood, the wind and the see thru clothing.

Beyond Borders (2003)

the characters lack depth and the relationship was not built very well

however, i did enjoy the visual aspect and relation to the areas that they were in. i do wish that they would have spent more time developing the relationship between nick and sarah. they did not give you enough information to become completely involved with their love affair. maybe if this was true story that we all new about before going to the movie it would have been a little better. with all of that, the movies does do a great job showing the sacrifices that people make to help others. it was easy to see how angelina was affected by these people and the problems. I also an not a big fan of the sad endings. i watch a movie to be taken up, then down and then wrapped up all nice and warm at that end. but that is just my personal preference. i sleep better at night when i have seen something with a happy or hopeful ending.
