Yip Man ngoi zyun: Cheung Tin Chi (2018)
Excellent movie
Michelle Yeoh did a great job. They all did. Whether you like the IPman series or just a fan of kung fu. The story had a few twists and turn and kept me seated throughout the entire movie. Imagine running out of Milk Duds without going for a refill! I've always been a fan of kung fu movies. From watching the earlier ones on a Saturday afternoon up to even more when I grew up and got a satellite.
The Shaw Brothers made a lot of them and I enjoyed them all. It's funny to see Michelle in so many different rolls. From Crouching Tiger to Star Trek Discovery.
I knew I recognized Dave Batista from Guardians of the Galaxy. He played a very good role.
NOTE: ALL MOVIE MAKERS. ALL OF YOU. You show the credits to movies but never show a picture of the actor or actress along with them. If you are new to a movie or particular cast member you have no clue who they are. You have to look them up on IMDB, which is fine, that's what it is for but if you showed the picture with the names, I do believe people would actually stay to watch the credits.
Star Trek: Discovery (2017)
Horribly unbelievable
First, no way can Sonequa pull off that she was raised on Vulcan. No possible way. She can't ACT that good. She is certainly no Spock who was half human. She's moody, she's not trained in least. It's a bad match for her to be billed as being raised on Vulcan yet show none of the qualities we knew to grow and love in Spock.
I don't think this series will last long. You have Captain Pike in that time period yet a ship that can "black alert" and travel like that? Talk about far fetched.
I'll probably let 4 shows go unwatched and then binge watch this.
Alita: Battle Angel (2019)
I hate when you get to the end of the movie.....
And it's not really an end. Stay tuned IF they ever make Part 2. The movie was decent enough but if I had known, I would have passed on it.
Glass (2019)
James McAvoy stole the show!
Wow, what great acting by James McAvoy. I was very impressed. If not for him, I probably would have shut this off in the beginning. Bruce Willis had a good part but it could have been more. Samuel Jackson had a mediocre part and in fact, it was kinda far fetched. I loved how they use Willis' movie son in the first movie as his son years later. That was cool. Spencer Clark 19 yrs later and very grown up. He did a fine job.
For me, this was a one time watch. I would not watch it again.
Halloween at Aunt Ethel's (2019)
Boring
Ever watch a movie for about 20 mins and you get up and walk out of a theater? This is one of those movies. First, they are hardly teenagers. They look like they are in their mid 20's towards 30. Secondly, that acting is absolutely cringe worthy.
Again, it's an absolute rarity I'd even shut off a tv show I hadn't seen. That's why we channel flip. This movie is that bad.
Robin Hood (2018)
Boring
Boring indeed. This doesn't even rate as high as an after school movie we used to rush home to watch. How many times can they remake classics? They failed miserably on this movie. Absolutely boring throughout the entire movie. No surprises.
The Meg (2018)
Very intersting watch
Jason Stathom does it again. I've always liked him. This movie wasn't blood and gore. It showed a great concept in how they came to even find the meg! I watched the entire movie and it kept me interested.
The Squid reminded me almost as something from watching a Captain Nemo movie with his Nautilus. I read some of the low ratings and just shook my head. Let them write a script and produce a movie on their own so we can review it. This movie is certainly NOT a waste of time if you are in the mood to sit down, grab some pizza and enjoy the show.
Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald (2018)
Slow paced, hard to follow
I like to think that I am not an idiot. I found this movie very slow paced and hard to follow. They didn't define the characters enough. I tried to follow who was a babies mother and then tried to follow where that kid went and who the other mother was. It happened so fast in about 2 minutes of story telling that I didn't think was good enough. To me, this was a long drawn out, slow paced movie. Almost boring.
The Dawnseeker (2018)
Most boring movie I ever watched so far
The alien was a total ripoff of the alien that tried to kill Arnold Schwarzenegger in Predator. Maybe the borrowed the costume.
One monster had the cheapest costume I have ever seen. It's as if it was a 5th grade class was putting on a play. I can't believe that in this day and age people STILL make movies that are this lousy. Doesn't anyone speak up and say "Hey, this is total crap, let's stop production after day 2 before we are all laughed at".
This movie is rated 1. I would never watch it again and if the great Apocalypse was going to turn this earth into The Walking Dead I would burn this movies cd just so I know that no one tortured me with it.
The acting was as if they called people on day one and shoved a script into their hands and told them to read. This entire movie was a flop.
