These kind of movies will exist rarely..It was based on a story of Mumbai don Varadaraja mudaliar..It actually emotes the life of Velu , who becomes velu nayakkar in future..The story describes about how certain incidents turn velu's life into a gangster for good cause..From 10 to death it shows the Journey of Velu..These kind life journey movies will always have a separate fan base..Director Maniratnam had nailed it with his montage shorts..It was ilayaraja's 400th movie..The music was a big shoulder for this movie and the last but the least Mr Kamalhassan..The man single handedly holds the screen with different age categories from 20 to 60..The performance was too good..

The movie was based on a novel , which itself a big pressure for Vetrimaran .But the director had handled it beautifully and the way it made was simply great.. Dhanush's performance was standing at the top .. Music had worked great and all the performers gave their best...The caste based suppressions were cleanly described with genuine understandings..Overall it was great movie for the adults ..since its impression were disturbing the audience even after watching the movie ...So I strongly recommend the soft hearted people , not to watch the movie..

The delay of release had affected the collection of this movie..A well written script , but the screenplay was not much good ..The performance of vijay was better..The second half had felt a bit boring ..Overall , the film fails to engage the audience even though it had a well written script..

The movie revolves around how educated youngsters could make a change in politics..Apart from the plot , its the music which holds the movie perfectly..The way how director emotes the story was perfect.. Humours had worked , dialogues had worked , emotions had worked..The fight scene with local guys while arresting was the only negative in this movie..If that was a direct arrest , it would be more beautiful.. Mudhalvan , a must watch entertainer..
