Triangle of Sadness (2022)
Everything is all about money
My intuition was not to go but everyone was saying it is a great movie so I went. There is plenty of vomit in the movie and I left the movie wanting to vomit not just because of the message also because this movie is so shallow, very much black and white or more precisely black. Every one is either stupid or full of himself. Sorry everyone is stupid and full of himself. The only thing that drives people is money and power. It is all a struggle.
The characters are very two dimensional, no depth like caricatures.
I left sad and empty.
I gave it 5 because it is made very good and the point comes across strongly.
Love, Gilda (2018)
Missed opportunity
Most of the movie shows archived videos of performances she was part of or picture. It mentions some meaningful happenings in her life without providing enough room to give some depth and explorations. Behind this video lies an interesting story of an inspiring woman that is worth telling But didn't get an appropriate treatment in this video.
The Work (2017)
A must see for anyone!!!
Watching what this group of people go through in 4 days was a unforgettable experience. This group of men provided so much support, so much love. The inmates that participate in this program managed to change their life completely. They became people that I would love to be with and learn from. I just cried all the way through. Each one of the participants carries his wounds, the wounds that drove some of them to violence. Each one of the participating inmates used the time in prison to become a better person. If they can do it we all can do it. This brings so much hope. It is done brilliantly. I admire the outside group of men for the willingness to experience this and fully participate. I wish there were groups like this in all prisons and also for women.
Begin Again (2013)
Beautiful music, lovely story, shallow characters
I enjoyed the movie, mainly because of the music, the soundtrack is awesome. The story is there for the music. The story is the background for the music, the reason for the music, since this movie is about song writers and producing music. It is a fun story, engaging, but not real. Either things go real downwards or so they say, or upwards. When upwards, everything goes so smooth. The characters are so one dimensional, no real human interaction, no emotions, even though they mention real heavy staff, but none of it really gets into the movie. Everything is for the music and the music is so much fun. Real great music. This movie made me want to here that music on and on.
