Nightmare Alley (2021)
A fine neo-noir film we needed!
I've eager to watch Nightmare Alley since it was announced as Del Toro's next project about one and a half year ago. And what a unique experience it was. A gripping, atmospheric noir which graps you from the very first to very last second of the film.
A dark, compelling story about the duality of man, greed and a reflection of our personal insecurities and demons of the past.
The Texas Chain Saw Massacre (1974)
THAT'S HOW ESCALATING HORROR SHOULD BE DONE
Horror directors TAKE NOTES. This is how you create a constant sense of escalating horror.
A group of 5 friends take a trip at the heart of Texas. But with each mile, we as an audience are driven more and more into madness.
From the very start we know that things are not going to end very well for the protagonists. In fact the narrator informs us of it. Then as the small company of five proceed they (and we) sense that something REALLY BAD is going on in this little part of Texas.
YES the performances are not exactly Oscar worthy. YES, the female protagonist does not hit a spot with her "lines" (it is almost completely screams to be honest), but the atmosphere, the beautiful, macabre (and sometimes innovative) violence of the movie and the constant, - as worst as it gets- escalating horror make Texas Chainsaw Massacre a thrilling ride to enjoy.
Tis kakomoiras (1963)
The best Greek comedy of all time!
This is quite simply the best comedy in the history of Greek cinema. Characters and plot are as simple as it gets. Yet Kostas Chatzichristos delivers, with the best comedic performance of Greek cinema history , with constant punchlines (every single moment) which are relatable and memorable until this very day.
To summ up :
HANDS DOWN THE BEST COMEDY GREEK CINEMA HAS EVER PRODUCED!!!
Driving Miss Daisy (1989)
Human relations are not about color or age !!!
A very enjoyable look in the 50s American South , with a deep message : human relations are the longest , most beautiful journey there is ... and it is not one - way .
The Night of the Hunter (1955)
This classic ride will haunt you
A true classic horror film . Laughton's surreal world and Mitchum's horrifying performance as preacher / serial killer Harry Powell will be a film to remember .
Blade Runner 2049 (2017)

Blade Runner 2049 is a true gem . It takes all the good elements of the original film and elevates them to a whole new level .With gorgeous cinematography , electrifying performances by Gosling and Ford and a genius plot , this movie already takes it's place to the Hall of Fame of modern cinema !
