Apple tries to make another Ted Lasso
20 July 2022
I guess Apple is saying if you liked Ted Lasso, then we'll try and make another one. It's tone and form is inspired from Ted Lasso, I guess.

It's about somebody coming from success but suffering an emotional loss (divorce) which pushes them to go do something completely new and something they know nothing about but with the help of one trusty sidekick. A combination of Ted Lasso's team owner and grumpy Veteran footballer form Loot's grumpy manager of Molly's charity foundation. The cast is rounded out with some quirky odd balls with hearts of gold.

Just like outside the window
19 July 2021
The other Purge films are escapist horror fantasy, this one just decides to reflect the present reality that awaits outside.

Fun Parody of Hallmark/Lifetime/Netflix channel Christmas rom-com movies
15 December 2020
The Simpsons production team tries the holiday genre parody that worked so well with their Treehouse of Horror every Halloween. This time it's of the corny but wildly popular and predictable Hallmark/Lifetime/Netflix channel Christmas rom-com movie. Really accurate with the jokes. Ellie Kemper stars as Mary, the big city career woman who visits folksy small town Springfield.

Entertaining showcase of systemic racism
11 June 2020
A totally new premise but a good one. The only theme that remained was of supernatural forces manipulating and empowering real human evil to terrorize society. On point with the social commentary about evergreen white supremacy supporters ingrained in every facet of ordinary life. Highlights also, how nothing has improved about it in America since before world war 2.

If Tarantino made a tv series as a sequel to Inglorious B
22 February 2020
It has all the stylish dialogue and cartoonish violence of a seventies B movie that Tarantino has made his trademark. It's a wish fulfillment fantasy of righteousness vengeance against the sadistic Nazi White Supremacists hiding as conservative Americans during the late 70's. Very important in 2020, as the white supremacist Trump Republican Nazis are back hiding as Americans and there is a real need for The Hunters to do their work.

Fun action movie with a different perspective
14 February 2020
Remove the troll hate and what is left is a typical action adventure movie, except with female protagonists. It felt odd watching this kind of movie without any male representation or pandering. I can't remember a summer action flick where there wasn't at least some shots or a super cool guy in an important supporting role. This is unapologetically made by a woman, to inspire and entertain women. If they can appreciate a century of bro action movies, a guy can appreciate the female take on the genre.

On the brink of becoming a Comedy sketch
16 January 2020
Warning: Spoilers
First of all, it's a good story and a good Black Mirror episode. Having said that, this very well could have turned into a extremely funny comedy sketch, perfectly at home on SNL, Chappelle Show or Key & Peele. Or even a Judd Apatow raunchy sex comedy. It's doesn't go that way. Still unintentionally funny at parts. The premise is evident from the beginning if you can spot all many the hints and winks to their repressed inclinations. It's not subtle at all.
