Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire (2024)
A Monster Brawl Extravaganza
First of all, don't read/listen to all those reviewers who have no idea about how the monsterverse works, especially the ones who compare GxK with Minus One. They both are movies made for their own monsterverses POV respectively. Those who still choose to compare them have no understanding about the word POV.
Here's the real review for all the monster lovers out there. Yes, Adam Wingard has definitely listened to all us monster lovers and has made what we asked. More of Monstrous Action. Offcourse no movie plot, revolving around planet earth, can ever be made with 0% humans involvement, unless it's a Jurassic era documentary, so we do get a small boring human plot.
The Move is filled with Monster action sequences which are epic, but some scenes did lack originality, like controlling shimo by a small piece of crystal which just automatically glows without any on/off button or some hypnotic effects only when pointed at her. CGI at various points are quite messed up. But afterall we've got what we wanted.
The human plot was just stinky. Some parts were actually essential but the rest just a bunch of meaningless & ironic plot filling crap. I mean what was all that Iwi technology, crystal pyramids, anti gravity, etc, etc... BS!. A Titan vet as a full time profession... seriously!?. Apart from Kong which other Titan is gonna examine & take care of. Rest of them will straight away be ready to gulp him up. They had a metallic arm support, which is readily available in the hollow earth, just in time. It's like as if they knew kong's gonna get only his arm right arm injured. Cringe alert!
Adam did try to add more of some comedic plot compared to GvK. Some people did buy it. But like i said earlier, its just a meaningless plot filling crap.
Regarding the cast performance, Kaylee Hottle just had 1 worried face expression through out the movie. The rest of the cast did try to give their best in whatever screen time they had.
Overall it's a great & money worthy popcorn flick, satisfying the fans monster brawling needs, but with a cringey human plot.
Spider-Man 3 (2007)
Exhausting & Toxic Romance Killed the Conclusion
This movie would've been the best Spider Man movie in the Raimi's Spider Verse. But it was "MJ" who ruined its hope of getting the Top place and Spider Man 2 earned it.
Storyline became too emotional, focused on relationship troubles and highlighted more on personal revenge. Didn't expect it or wanted it to end that way.
Feel sad for Sandman's character. His strength was extremely underrated here. Had he been given more value, he would've definitely been more badass
Sam Raimi's direction... As usual... At it's best... Had the storyline been better... He would've nailed the direction.
Performance of the cast was great. Not Kristen Dunst's... All she had to do was cry or scream throughout the movie and throughout this entire series.... Borrring.... :/
Adipurush (2023)
Destroyed the reality of Indian History
This is one of the most disgusting adaption of a story with great religious & historical importance.
I guess the main intention of this movie was only to convert all the illegally earned money by the director/producers into legal investment & declare loss to avoid paying taxes.
Can't blame the actors for this abomination. They tried to play their roles in the best way possible. Hence the 2 star that I've given. It's only the crew who has to be blamed for this.
Feels like the entire movie has been shot inside a bedroom or a small hall & to that the most pathetic & disgusting CGI is added. It costed ISRO 450cr for the Mangalyaan mission which benefited India & the scientists in its studies for about 10-15 years. This movie costing 600cr couldn't even have proper CGI. The 1987 Ramayana television series had better CGI than this.
Why rename the three leads, i.e. Ram, Sita & Laksmana while the names of the rest of the characters remain the same/original.
The Dialogues.... Oh My God!!! How did the CBFC approve this movie with such rubbish dialogues. It's More like a third grade standard less movie dialogues.
To be honest there are much better historical adoptions made in a much better & economical way. The 1992 Japanese adoption of Ramayana had been produced & directed in the most respectable manner.
Guys, please don't spend your valuable money on this so called movie. It's an insult to the movie industry. Save it so that you can spend on a different & more valuable movie. I could barely keep my eyes open for half the movie and I forced myself out of the theatre.
I don't know what is wrong with Indian Cinema. The quality of its content is deteriorating movie by movie. Just adding big names to the cast list is not going to make the movie a success. Proper direction, screenplay, production, dialogues, etc, all contributes to a movies success. Most of the historically important stories are being adopted & portrayed in a wrong way or by the wrong cast.
Ford v Ferrari (2019)
"7000+ GO LIKE HELL!!!"
This movie is not just any biopic or a regular racing/action movie, it's a one of its kind Gem. A Masterpiece.
Hats off to the entire cast & crew for their absolute dedication & fantastic performance. The Cast has not just portrayed their assigned roles/characters, they have lived it.
The Direction, the screenplay, the racing sequences, the casting everything is perfect. Only flaw in the movie is that there is no flaw at all.
I am giving 9/10 because there is a slight difference of story between reality v/s what's portrayed in the movie. Else it deserves a solid 10.
The Seriousness, the comedy, the emotions, everything is balanced perfectly. The race sequence has been shot in the most thrilling way possible.
This movie is worth to be seen and applauded. Those who haven't seen it yet, you'll definitely have a thrilling experience. The Best Racing movie ever made.
Kandahar (2023)
Shady Story with Eyewash Action
Gerard has got & has shown more potential in his other movies than what he's showcased in this movie. The role of Ali Faizal was not upto the mark. He too has wasted his potential on this move.
Storyline was slow in pace. Initial story buildup was good, but later became shady & exhausting. Some of the storyline added was not even showcased/carried over later.
Action was just for name sake. I don't understand how is this even called an action-thriller movie. Should be more of a Survival-Action with weightage given more to Survival. There is very low concept of thriller in this movie at all.
Dull dialogues too. There is no energy in the dialogues. Majority of the language used in the movie is Afghani/Hindi. Lucky that the language is translated to English by the subtitles.
Overall it's a boring action movie. Waste of time to watch. I would suggest you to watch a different movie with the same genre/actor than this.
Extraction 2 (2023)
Predictable but Good
6.5/10
Good carry over from the first installment but to be honest, the story became nearly common as a regular rescue ops movies & also was predictable at one point of time, unlike it's predecessor which was unpredictable till the end.
Some criticism against the use of too much foreign language. If you actually account for the language, 65% was a foreign language and the remaining 35% was English. Good thing that the conversations taking place in the foreign language was translated to English by the subtitles. Else it would've been blank meaningless story.
Action sequences was okay-ish compared to its predecessor as there was enough modern tech involved in this movie, unlike part 1 which was pure survival instincts & raw combat without modern tech.
Performance of the cast was upto the mark.
Finally a good Raw Action flick with some meaning to seperate the "John Wick genre", superheros/comics genre & "the Special army/intelligence genre"
Fast X (2023)
A Movie Fit to be in the F&F Franchise
Finally!!! A movie fit to be a part of the F&F Franchise after all these years. I am going to consider that part 6, 8 & 9 never existed in the franchise after watching this movie.
We'll connected & down to the ground storyline from Fast Five.
Giving it only 6 star only because of a few crappy car action sequences & weak climax. Could've made it more intense & suspenseful.
Hats off to the performance of Jason Momoa. He has portrayed the villainous character in the craziest & most exceptional way possible. Performance of the rest of the cast was decent/expected.
Overall this is a positive development in the final phase of the franchise. Those who have followed the entire franchise will only understand this point, because you know how the previous parts were.
F9 (2021)
Tombstone of the Fast & Furious franchise
How and why did the script of this movie even got approved. The potential & talent of all the cast & crew in this movie is all wasted and they themselves are ruining their career by doing this type of movies.
Extremely unrealistic, impractical & senseless action sequences.
The title of the Franchise & Movie is "Fast & Furious". Stick to it for god's sake. Bring back the street racing, bring back the cute girls, bring back the ground level action sequences involved only with cars. No submarines, no planes, no tanks, JUST THE CARS.
Well qualified scientists take several weeks & months together to calculate & test for a rocket to be launched without failures in to space. But the characters of F&F are great geniuses that they launch a car into space within a matter of days.
Universal Pictures, a genuine & humble request from all us movie lovers, please retire all your story writers & producers and hire new ones who can actually write good stories. It is a waste of everything that has been used to make this movie.
Honestly speaking, The F&F Franchise died with Paul Walker.
John Wick: Chapter 4 (2023)
Great storyline but prolonged action sequence.
The movie starts & ends well but gets saturated & boring with too much action & violence.
**SPOILER ALERT**
The Japan's action sequence prolonged too much with armored men coming in small groups and John Wick killing all of them with the same boring shooting. Adding nunchucks only made the sequence better for a short span of time.
John falls of from 2-3 floors multiple times but not a single broken bone/drop of blood. Kinda ironic right.
I agree that the entire cities are controlled by mafias, but seriously, when John fights off hoards of goons & assassins at the end, not a single legal intervention from cops is shown.
Surprisingly there's not a drop of blood/broken bone when John falls off 222 stairs. Gotta be more practical in such sequences.
Overall, the direction, performance of the actors and storyline was good, but action slightly lacked practicality. Good popcorn flix & best time to escape from the harsh reality of life.
Godzilla vs. Kong (2021)
More like "Movie title VS Story Line"
Gotta say... Much of the story is revealed in the 2 mins trailer itself.
Though the movie name is "Godzilla vs Kong", there is not much of intense dueling shown between the two rivals. I felt that it's prequel, "Godzilla The King of Monsters", had comparatively more amount of action than this(though the storyline of that movie sucked).
The movie largely focused on the "hollow earth theory" than on the intense rivalry between the 2 Apex Predators.
Very poor suspense buildup for Mecha godzilla. We'll have to watch this movie only to witness the power of mecha godzilla and the bare amount of action throughout the 2 hour movie.
Please kill Millie Bobby Brown's character. She's of no use at all in the entire movie.
The only point to praise in this movie is the Visual effects & direction. The story buildup & characters are utter waste.
Those who have followed all the movies of the monsterverse can go and watch in order to continue your streak. The rest of y'all... I guess it's not that worth to spend on the big screens. You can rather wait it out for it to release in Digital or on the OTT platform's.
