Nefarious (2023)
Very thought provoking
I thought this was a great movie, I have been thinking about it for days after.
The acting was great and I thought the writing was very good, I was very intrigued for the duration of the movie.
The character of Edward was incredibly well done, I became so uncomfortable with him at points I thought I'd have to leave the room or cry, but that is by no means a negative. The actor was just that good.
It's a very dialogue heavy movie, but it had a perfect run time which I appreciate.
I do recommend this movie because of its through provoking nature and short-ish run time. A good way to spend a weeknight evening.
Chip Chilla (2023)
The kids love it!
My kids love it, and that's a win for me. Don't listen to all the review bombers out there, just a classic, fun children's show. Those who accuse it of mansplaining amd whatever else just prove to me they haven't watched it, it's non existent in the episodes I've seen so far.
The characters are cute, the lessons applicable and voice acting is good too. I appreciate the episode lengths too, as sometimes a 10 minute show is all I need to distract the kids while I do something else.
So, anyways, I wasn't going to write a whole review but was pretty disappointed to see the many reviews which, in my opinion are disingenuous, so felt I would reassure anyone who's actually curious about the show to know its pretty great!.
The Garden (2019)
Kids live it!
My kids love this show. It's cute, and fun to watch! I love the songs and it's also entertaining enough that I'm not bored watching it with them. It's also nostalgic for me, the animation reminds me of the Powerpuff girls, or Fairly Odd Parents. Brightly coloured and moves at a good clip. I like how the episodes are such a short length too, it's good to put on when the kids want to watch something but don't want them in front of the TV for too long.
Not sure why there are so many negative reviews, its thoroughly enjoyable and entertaining. Has positive messages too.
The voice actors do a great job too, Lucy voice is adorable, and I love Captain Snappy.

Would have been better as a movie
Don't get me wrong, I was thoroughly entertained for most of this series, but I became more and more disappointed as the show went on.
Way too many characters, by a lot. Way too many storylines. And most none of them had to do with the actual plot. I wish netflix could move more to European model of 4 episodes per season or something, instead of dragging stuff out for 8.
Also, there were way too many instances of characters who magically understood one another's long and deep monologues even though they all spoke different languages??
I would have given this an 8 if netflix knew when to trim the fat and start giving us quality stories in a shorter amount of time.
Guillermo del Toro's Cabinet of Curiosities: Lot 36 (2022)
Ugh
I haaaated this episode. Not scary. The real villain is just a satirical character, made worse by horrible writing (a la, pulling up to the storage facility and awkwardly ending a conversation with "anyways, we're here." Eyeroll)
I wasn't frightened at all because the characters were in no way sympathetic, so who cares if they perish. Especially if they die by being absolute morons.) Like, honestly, not one likeable character. Creepy ass lady stalking the facility? Why is she there? Creepy Austrian who won't run away from Medusa Dottie? Storage unit owner who skims money from the units? Meh.)
I cant understand the positive reviews.
Guillermo del Toro's Cabinet of Curiosities: The Outside (2022)
One of the better ones so far....
I have watched the first four episodes, so far, the second best one. Very black mirror vibe, I was interested and tense the whole time. I thought there was some pretty good hunour in it, and I'll have watch to watch it again because I think there's a bunch of symbols I'm sure I missed (like, the ducks? Why soooo many ducks? And the crazy ass dog. I'm sure I'm missing something there. Oh! And THE MICROWAVE! Why so many microwave shots? Hmmmmm)
Anyways, I loved it. I was losing hope in this series after the first and second episodes, but after 3 and 4, it has redeemed itself.
And, poor hubby. He was my fave.
The Unforgivable (2021)
Sound and Fury, signifying nothing.....
I just, I don't know! It was a tad too long and somewhat predictable and in the end, nothing really happens! The two sons of the cop was such a weird and unbelievable storyline, the movie could have done without both of them, we xouke have dealt with one crazy son and not an unbelievably wishy washy person who suddenly needs to give everything up to defend his father because of a random conversation. Sandra Bullock does a great job but thats about it.....
Look Away (2018)
Not okay with the nude minor
This movie doesn't just include nipples on an actress depicting a minor, but blatant sexuality. For shame. Doesn't even matter what the story may have deserved, that totally ruined it for me.Not okay with nudity of a minor
