American Horror Stories: Milkmaids (2022)
I liked it!
This is probably the second best episode of s2. I enjoyed the dark and Erie ton of the "milkmaids" episode. Seth gabel was the creepiest part of the episode playing the psycho pastor. Was impressed with Mr. Fern and the two female leads as well! The child lead actor in this episode lacked acting ability for me. Other than that it was a solid creepy watch!!
Fresh (2022)
give chad a chance
This movie was hilarious. It scared me too. The twist before the opening credits (30 minutes into the movie!!!!) scared the sh** out of me. Things turned dark quick, but still managed to not be too terrifying. I was worried it was just gonna be a really dark cannibal flick, but thanks to the comedic performance by Sebastian Stan we had some laughs. Great soundtrack. The last 20 minutes of the movie was probably the best part. I was rooting for the female lead. Chemistry between two leads was awesome to see on screen.
Scream (2022)
fans of the OG's will find a way to like it!
There is no reason one must not give this soft (sequel)reboot a shot given the new directors. The film was smart, scary, emotional, and clever! Melissa barrela did a great job getting the audience to trust her as the new lead (given the circumstances of her past). I wish the female legacy characters had gotten more screen time, but it was fun watching the new characters interact. My favorite character was definitely Mindy Meeks-(played by jasmin savoy) I thought she was a great scene stealer and wonderful tribute to her uncle! Mikey Madison, Jenna Ortega, Jack Quaid, David arquette, and Marley Shelton all were great stand outs for their acting.
Karen (2021)
Great low budget thriller
This movie definitely dragged on longer than it should have, but was a decent watch. Taryn Manning stole the show as the unsettling "Karen". This movie highlights the racism and police brutality that black people have to deal with today. I felt like it was too long, but worth a watch!
American Horror Stories: Ba'al (2021)
Billie Lourd saves American horror stories
This episode was really well acted and written. The twist was definitely surprising and the ending was great! Billie Lourd showed off her acting ability in this episode and definitely carried the show. Wish we could've seen more Virginia Gardner and less Ronen Rubinstein. 9/10.
Run (2020)
Sarah Paulson actually scared me!
I am so used to seeing Sarah Paulson portray the victim, I've never taken any of her dangerous and frightening roles seriously until this one! I was literally terrified of her performance in this movie , but I still cared for her character in a way. Kudos to the young actress who played Chloe in this movie, very well done. I give this 9/10 I found it to be a solid thrilling ride that has some heart to it!
Nocturne (2020)
Okay but it was well done
I only watched this movie because I am a Sydney Sweeney fan and she did not disappoint. It started off slow but definitely started getting interesting and entertaining halfway through the flick. Very Erie feeling throughout the movie. The ending keeps you thinking what the meaning of the whole movie is....which I liked. Well acted from both lead actors Sweeney and Iseman. Blumhouse has been releasing great flicks!
The Babysitter: Killer Queen (2020)
Great seeing friendly faces!!
I loved seeing the OG cast back in for this second flick. The movie had funny parts, but it wasn't as good as the first one. If you are a fan of the original one- you should enjoy this. It has a few good twists and laughs and gore. Don't watch this movie without seeing the first one.
The Rental (2020)
Thrilling ride!!!
This movie is gonna be underrated and it shouldn't be! I am such a fan of Allison Bre so I was excited to see this movie considering it is Dave Franco's directing debut. I was not disappointed in the film. It starts off pretty slow, but halfway through the movie it gets so much better. Unpredictable flick. I was the most impressed with Shelia Vands performance and I'm excited to see her take on more mainstream roles!
Flower (2017)
Zoey Deutch is a force!!!!
Okay so I watched this movie back in 2017 when it came out. I remember liking it, but recently seeing it was added to Hulu I decided to give it another go. It was so much better the second time around. The movie is so relatable with modern day feminism and teenage behavior. Zoey deutch is such a blowout outstanding actress. Her portray of a character who isn't very likeable at first, but at the end of the movie you keep wanting more of her! I recommend this film to teeganager and adults. You laugh, almost cry, you get goosebumps....overall great independent film.
On My Block: Chapter Twenty-Eight (2020)
I got the closure I needed
This season didn't start off hot for me. I enjoyed the great performances of ruby, jamar and jasmine but lacked from the other leads. I am very happy with the ending and wouldn't mind seeing more.
