There's a delicate dance to pulling off a great cameo. If a random appearance overstays its welcome, it can feel — to borrow a wrestling term — like a cheap pop. But if executed correctly, a cameo can elevate a scene into the stratosphere. David Bowie serving as the judge of the walk-off in "Zoolander" is perfection, Matt Damon singing "Scotty Doesn't Know" in "Eurotrip" gave us an all-time great "Is that who I think it is?!" moment, and Charlton Heston delivering a gripping, out-of-place monologue in the middle of "Wayne's World 2" is nothing short of genius. But for every Mike Tyson in "The Hangover," there's Vanilla Ice in "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: The Secret of the Ooze." Sometimes a cameo happens because an actor happens to be filming something on the same lot, as was the case with John Cena in "Barbie,...

The X-Men have slowly been taking over the Marvel Cinematic Universe, whether through the upcoming film Deadpool and Wolverine or X-Men ’97. As such, there are many wondering about who would take up the live-action roles as well. One character that fans are eagerly eyeing is that of Scott Summers, aka, Cyclops.
Cyclops in X-Men ’97
There have been many actors whom fans have wanted to see take up the role. Ever since the Ryan Reynolds film was announced, the possibility of the X-Men expanding has been growing manifolds. So the opportunity of casting the perfect actor for the role of the cheery and energetic Scott Summers is not one fans want to miss out on. Chris Hemsworth, better known to many as Thor, has been wreaking havoc in the world of Mad Max as Dr. Dementus and having the time of his life. A step away from the fictional world of Marvel Cinematic Universe, the actor looks brilliant and surprisingly does an impeccable job playing Dementus, despite having played a character like Thor for decades.
Chris Hemsworth as Dr. Dementus in Furiosa
He might have moved on to the Mad Max franchise, but Hemsworth has not forgotten his Marvel roots and wants another go at Thor after the Love & Thunder fiasco. And Marvel fans believe George Miller is a good choice to direct Thor 5 after the director expressed he is willing to work with Hemsworth again.

While Ryan Coogler’s reputation in Hollywood is quite spectacular, the regard given to him in the Marvel Cinematic Universe is at another level. He helped the franchise get its first two Oscar wins, as well as numerous award nominations, all through the masterpiece that was Black Panther. Arguably one of the best Marvel films to date, the project not only had an excellent director, but it also had some of the most talented people in the industry as a part of its cast and crew.
Ryan Coogler’s Black Panther
Considering how much acclaim the film got, it is not surprising that many trust the filmmaker with the movies that he makes. After the follow-up film, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, it was expected that he would finish the trilogy. However, it would seem that on top of the Wakandan films, he may also be heading one of the most...

This X-Men ’97 article contains spoilers.
“Tastes like chicken.” If that phrase brings to mind the evil mutant the Blob chowing down on the Wasp’s corpse, then the ending of X-Men ’97‘s eighth episode, “Tolerance Is Extinction Part One,” should send shivers down your spine.
After all, Magneto’s decision to attack the entire planet Earth in X-Men ’97 has a lot in common with the inciting event of Ultimatum, the 2009 Marvel event that somehow made the already grim and edgy Ultimate Marvel Universe even grimmer and edgier, to very mixed results.
The connections between Ultimatum and “Tolerance Is Extinction Part One” only stand out more when one considers all of the many cameos in the episode, which showed that anti-mutant bigotry isn’t just limited to the X-Men, but it affects the entire Marvel Universe.
Here’s a breakdown of all the cameos in the star-studded episode...

Every couple of months in comic book-centric social media circles, someone reposts a comics page in which Deadpool shooting Spider-Man in the head or decapitating an exhausted Bruce Banner. These panels usually spark arguments about whether or not these kills are in character (they aren’t) or if the entire thing is a joke (it is).
Eventually, someone points out that the pages come from Deadpool Kills the Marvel Universe, a 2012-2013 miniseries by Cullen Bunn and Dalibor Talajic. The story involves Deadpool’s fourth-wall-breaking powers driving him so mad that he decides to kill all the other Marvel characters because they’re fictional and their lives don’t matter. Deadpool Kills the Marvel Universe may have inspired controversy, but it also inspired several sequels, including Deadpool Kills the Marvel Universe Again.
From all that we’ve seen so far, Deadpool & Wolverine seems to have little in common with Bunn and Talajic’s take.

On March 25, federal agents raided two of Diddy’s luxury properties as part of an investigation into sex trafficking. After completing interviews with three women and one man in Manhattan, authorities seized firearms and personal phones. We know the allegations are connected to sexual assault and the solicitation and distribution of illegal narcotics and firearms. But many are still curious about Diddy’s home and details of the raid. Here’s what we know:

Former President Donald Trump hosted his annual New Year’s Eve party at Mar-a-Lago, the luxurious club known for his frequent visits.
The event was a star-studded affair that featured a performance by 90s rapper Vanilla Ice and even a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle.
Trump’s children in attendance were his sons, Donald Jr., Eric and Barron, as well as his daughter Tiffany, who had been notably absent from family events.
In August, Tiffany held her wedding to billionaire Michael Boulos at Mar-a-Lago.
However, there were notable absences from the party, such as Trump’s wife, former First Lady Melania Trump, and one of his children, Ivanka Trump.
Unlike his customary practice, Trump did not make any public statements.

If you thought the Vanilla Ice and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles pairing was weird, try this one on…Mr. Rob Van Winkle himself revealed that he was buddies with Pablo Escobar during the ‘90s – you know, the Colombian drug lord…Blow, ninja, blow, ninja, blow!
Vanilla Ice recently fessed up that he and Escobar – whose cocaine empire helped him amass around $30 billion – hung out on multiple occasions. But it wasn’t 2-xl or Battletoads that the fellas bonded over, it was speed boats. “[Escobar and his people] would take me in the helicopter, we’d go to these great events and race boats and look at all the cool stuff that they were making. And I never questioned, we didn’t have Google. I don’t know who these people are. I thought they were businessmen. They like to race boats like I did.” But Winkle plays innocent as to his dealings (for lack...

Rapper Vanilla Ice recently said he once palled around with drug lord Pablo Escobar, but didn’t know he was a major drug kingpin.
The rapper made the revelation in a VladTV interview, saying he used to party with the Colombian gangster during his heyday in the 1990s but insists he didn’t even realise how big a deal Escobar was back then.
Vanilla Ice, whose real name is Rob Van Winkle, says he hosted Pablo several times at his Florida home at the time. On Tuesday he joined ‘TMZ Live’ to elaborate on what exactly they had in common as buddies, reports tmz.com.
He says they shared love of speed boats actually drew them together at first, and he even gives credit to Pablo for fueling innovations in boat racing.

90’s pop icon Vanilla Ice stars as himself alongside Australia’s darling Sophie Monk, who is also playing herself in the upcoming action-comedy, Zombie Plane; which also boasts Chuck Norris, starring as Commander Chuck Norris, in the cast – who “mentored and trained Ice to be the deadly secret agent he is today”.
In Zombie Plane, a secret government agency recruits celebrities to be undercover agents, and together they save humanity from an imminent zombie attack.
The film, which is littered with celebrity cameos as well as well-known pop music from the 90s including Vanilla Ice’s own library, was shot earlier this year in Australia with the support of Screen Australia. Directed by Lav Bodnaruk and Michael Mier, of Chop Shop Post, an established post-production and VFX company whose recent work includes Paramount+ ‘Last King of the Cross’ and Amazon’s ‘Troppo’.

Most filmmakers — even the likes of Martin Scorsese and Christopher Nolan — have likely had a “pinch me” moment on set when they’re watching some wild idea they once dreamed up come to life before their eyes. For Lav Bodnaruk, his moment arrived earlier this year in Australia while directing 1990s pop icon Vanilla Ice, who at the time was covered head to toe in blood and killing zombies with a drill.
“It was like, this is crazy,” he explains. “And Vanilla Ice was the same. He couldn’t believe that we were turning him into an action hero.”
The film in question, Zombie Plane, being sold at the AFM by Studio Dome and which Bodnaruk co-directed alongside Michael Mier, might not sound like it’s towards the serious end of the cinematic spectrum. And it isn’t. At all. And Ice isn’t even the only once big name appearing.

Ice Ice Baby. Go Ninja Go Ninja Go. If a guy was everywhere in 1990 and 1991, it was Vanilla Ice. A white rapper from Dallas, Texas – whose real name is Rob Van Winkle, the much-mocked but extremely popular rapper scored a multi-platinum debut with his album To The Extreme, which sold seven million copies and, at the time, was the fastest-selling hip-hop album of all time. His signature track, “Ice Ice Baby”, which sampled Queen’s “Under Pressure”, was the highest-charting rap single ever, as was his cover of “Play That Funky Music”.
Vanilla Ice was so popular among teens that he showed up as himself in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2: The Secret of the Ooze, where he sang “Ninja Rap” (Go Ninja Go). When the X-Men debuted in the pages of Marvel Comics back in 1963, their superhero costumes looked a little more like school uniforms. The team at the time was made up of the characters Cyclops, Ice Man, Beast, Marvel Girl, and Angel, and they all wore a notable yellow-and-blue ensemble with hoods to partially cover their faces. "The Uncanny X-Men" also allowed creators Stan Lee and Jack Kirby to skip over the bothersome task of having to invent a superhero origin story. Rather than a tale of cosmic rays, gamma radiation, spider-bites, or some other powers-granting conceit, the X-Men were merely born with their abilities. They are mutants.
When the X-Men universe expanded to include more and more characters, the blue-and-yellow ensembles gave way to a wide variety of outlandish costumes, each one adhering to the styles of the day. Those who read X-Men comics in the 1990s, for instance,...

Tennis player nicknames are very common, just like they are in any other sport. Often, these creative and witty alter-egos provide fans with a reflection of a player's style or personality.
Many players are also synonymous with tennis fans from different generations and the nicknames bring memories back of famous moments or incidents. Whether it was John McEnroe 's infamous outbursts or Rafael Nadal 's long-term dominance at Roland Garros, tennis players earn nicknames for a reason.
These are some of the most well-known nicknames for current and former Atp professionals and the reasons why they are known by their aliases.
Novak Djokovic - Nole
Novak Djokovic is known for tormenting opponents and for being a psychological stalwart on the tennis court. But he is still often referred to by his affectionate nickname 'Nole'.
The exact origin of the 36-year-old's nickname has never been verified, but a few possibilities exist.

Billions, Season 7. Photo Credit: Mark Seliger/Showtime. One thing we’ve learned from the show Billions is that, apparently, the more money you have, the more you appreciate music. Not only has Billions used several iconic pieces of music as part of its soundtrack, but nearly all of the show’s key characters regularly have lines referencing songs or artists, and several artists have appeared (as themselves) on the show, including Metallica, Michael Bolton, Ben Folds, Southside Johnny and the Asbury Jukes, and indie darling Jason Isbell. The show’s creators, Brian Koppelman and David Levien, are big music fans themselves — Koppelman’s father was the “K” in ’90s label Sbk Records — and they spoke to us about the importance of finding the right music for the show. “Ninja rap” might just be the Rosetta Stone of early ‘90s pop culture. For only during this brief and extraordinary moment could a musical act like Vanilla Ice in supersized shoulder pads—and with a slicked-back pompadour that made it look as if he just stepped out of the shower—reign supreme as the fastest-selling hip hop artist ever. Also only in that same context could he then be convinced to appear in a movie where he’d dance on stage with full-grown men wearing elaborate puppeteer costumes that made them resemble a beloved Saturday morning cartoon show.
Yet in 1991 all these things happened, and they were all massive hits. Truly, then, the third act of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Secret of the Ooze is a convergence point for everything gaudy and overwrought in the American zeitgeist of its era. And it’s time to stop pretending like that’s a bad thing.

Who could have guessed that Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird’s small, black-and-white indie comic about anthropomorphic crime-fighting turtles that began as a parody of superhero storytelling would not only be around forty years later but also have the love and investment of several generations of fans? Whether you discovered the Turtles through the toys, the various TV shows, or the movies, audiences have been lucky enough to have at least one defining iteration of these heroes.
Alongside Batman and Spider-Man, the Turtles have had the most consistent luck with their onscreen history. And this week, the Heroes in Half-Shells are back on the big screen for the latest reboot, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem. To celebrate, The Hollywood Reporter has definitively ranked the theatrical Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movies from the most bogus to the most bodacious.

This article contains spoilers for "Tmnt: Mutant Mayhem."
The Ninja Turtles are back in "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem," an animated film from director Jeff Rowe and producer Seth Rogen. By every measure it's a successful reboot of the beloved property that will keep youngsters and animation enthusiasts entertained. Fans of the original comic books and animated series from the '80s might notice changes to certain aspects of the characters -- "Mutant Mayhem" is more of a character-driven comedy than an action film, with a powerful message about acceptance. I, for one, wanted a bit more ninja madness, but still walked away satisfied.
Regardless of any reservations about the picture, plenty of fun Easter eggs sprinkled throughout pay homage to previous iterations that should satisfy those needing a nostalgia kick. Some are easy to spot, while others require sharp eyes and some brain power. What's clear is that...

"Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem" may dig considerably into the massive assembly of mutant characters from the franchise's long history in various media, but when it comes to referencing the other movies that have come before it, the Easter eggs are few and far between. Thankfully, it feels like director Jeff Rowe and his team focused more on making a movie that appealed to both longtime fans of "Tmnt" and those who have zero nostalgia for the characters at all. However, co-writer Seth Rogen couldn't help but sneak one amusing reference into "Mutant Mayhem" as a last-minute addition.
The original 1990 live-action "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" is the gold standard when it comes to the comic book franchise on the big screen, but the sequel "Secret of the Ooze" does have some memorable moments. Chief among them is a silly sequence when the turtles square off with the new mutant...

The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and music go together like the Ninja Turtles and pizza; the two are intrinsically linked. From the iconic theme song of the 1987 animated series, to Vanilla Ice’s tie-in “Ninja Rap” for 1991’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: The Secret of the Ooze, and even their semi-forgotten 1990 stage rock and roll musical Coming Out of Their Shells, no matter the genre, these green teens are always rocking big tunes.
With music playing such a big role in the Turtles’ history, director Jeff Rowe and executive producer Seth Rogen had to be extra thoughtful when selecting the songs for the soundtrack of the Turtles’ latest film, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem. With its distinctive animation style, the feature film finds our pizza-loving Turtles escaping their sheltered existence in the sewers as they seek to be accepted as normal teenagers through acts of heroism.

When HBO’s “The Idol” premiered to a resounding “ugh, really?” from the general public last month, there was a specific label people were quick to apply to the series: vanity project. Who the show was a vanity project for depended on which creator was being complained about at the time. But haters of the instantly despised pop star erotic thriller were practically universal in their assessment that the show was an ego stroke for star The Weeknd and/or series director Sam Levinson: both of whom took their lashings over the course of the show’s five-episode run.
The pair clearly had sky high hopes for the series, to the point that it received a rare TV premiere at the Cannes Film Festival in May 2023 before its broadcast debut in June. That was criticized by many as a deeply egotistical push, but its inclusion at the festival did...

One of the most popular rappers is in legal hot water on a massive scale. Puerto Rican singer Bad Bunny is riding high, with a Spider-Man spinoff movie on the way and a prominent role in an upcoming WWE pay-per-view. But a major lawsuit has come his way. It could put a damper on his otherwise great year.
The “Mia” rapper put something on one of his albums that may have been ill-advised. His vulnerable approach to lyrics and production may have hit too close to home for someone who used to be a big part of his life. The hit on his bank account might be far more than he ever thought possible.

During last year’s Game Awards, 505 Games announced Crime Boss: Rockay City. Nobody knew what the game was really about, as the trailer promised celebrities such as Michael Madsen, Kim Basinger, Danny Trejo, and Danny Glover. After that trailer, we didn’t really hear anything about the game until its recent release. And now we might know why.
On March 28, Crime Boss: Rockay City essentially stealth released on the Epic Games store, with the Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5 versions to follow shortly this June. Reviews dropped around the same time, and most, if not all, say the same thing: Crime Boss: Rockay City plays a lot like PayDay 2 but much worse. Controls are floaty, missions are more or less the same, and enemies tend to be unfair bullet sponges. Even when a job seemingly calls for stealth, one way or another, it always ends in shootouts. If you're looking to pinpoint the greatest year in hip-hop, it's going to start with a one, followed by a nine, another nine, and end with a number no higher than five. The genre that grew out of Bronx house parties thrown by sonic pioneers like DJ Kool Herc, and survived the faddish exploitation of the early and mid-1980s had finally come of age. Obviously, there were groundbreaking LPs released prior to the '90s, but it wasn't until we entered the final decade of the millennium that explorers like Hank Shocklee, Dr. Dre, DJ Premier, and Prince Paul refined their sounds to bring hard-hitting East Coast beats and blunted West Coast G-funk grooves to the ears of audiophiles across the country.
Hollywood was listening. They weren't necessarily getting it, but they were listening. Mid-'80s films like "Breakin'," "Beat Street" and "Krush Groove" captured the excitement of the...

Vanilla Ice is recalling the time Madonna popped the question when they briefly dated in the early 1990s, and it freaked him out!
The 55-year-old rapper divulged the nugget while on the “Just Jenny with Jenny Hutt” podcast and revealed they actually met when he was performing at a sold-out show at the famed Hollywood Palladium theatre in Los Angeles. He said he saw her dancing her butt off and surrounded by a large entourage.
Later, while backstage, the “Ice Ice Baby” rapper says he noticed Madonna making “sexy eyes” at him. He didn’t think the flirtation was directed at him, so he didn’t pay much attention. But that all changed when Sbk Records co-founder Charles Koppelman, Hutt’s father, told the rapper Madonna wanted to meet him. Vanilla Ice couldn’t believe it. He was in shock.

Mumbai, Feb 1 (Ians) Rapper Vanilla Ice has recalled the “crazy” whirlwind of Madonna asking for his hand in marriage.
He believes he was “way too young” to get engaged to the Queen of Pop in the early 1990s, reports femalefirst.co.uk.
Ice, whose real name is Robert Matthew Van Winkle, was 23 when he first met the ‘Vogue’ hitmaker at one of his gigs, and she was 32, and it all happened “too fast” for him.
Appearing on the ‘Just Jenny’ podcast, he recalled: “Things were going so crazy and fast, man. I was just like, ‘What?! I thought the guy was supposed to do that (propose). What do you mean? Wait a minute. This is too fast. I’m just getting started here and I’m way too young for this!’

While Madonna has yet to speak publicly on whether she proposed to the rapper, the music star doubled down on the claim in a new podcast interview, during which he also shared his alleged reason for ending the relationship.

“Dancing with the Stars” has whittled away half of its season 31 cast, and the cuts are coming even faster. Tonight’s “90s Night,” in which the celebs danced to iconic music from the decade, was a double elimination night, narrowing the competition down from eight to six semifinalists. So who stayed, who went home, and were there any shocking upsets? Follow our live blog below with all of the night’s developments and commentary as they happen.
Just like last week there were two rounds of competition on “90s Night.” The first was the usual collection of new dances in previously unlearned dance styles: salsas for actors Wayne Brady and Trevor Donovan, tangos for TikTok star Charli D’Amelio and “Jersey Shore” star Vinny Guadagnino, sambas for drag queen Shangela and “The Bachelorette” alum Gabby Windey, contemporary for “D’Amelio Show” star Heidi D’Amelio, and jazz for actor Daniel Durant.

“Dancing with the Stars” is reminding us all that we’re very old by turning back the clock for ’90s Night on Monday, but the more important number is two because there will be a double elimination.
The final eight will perform twice — an individual routine and a relay dance — to classic ’90s jams. During the latter, they’ll be backed by live performances by Salt-n-Pepa, En Vogue, Vanilla Ice and Kid ‘N Play. Salt-n-Pepa and En Vogue will also perform “Whatta Man” during the show. And by the end of the night, two pairs will bid adieu, advancing the final six to the semifinals on Nov. 14.
See the full lineup below:
Wayne Brady and Witney Carson: salsa (“Motownphilly” by Boyz II Men)
Charli D’Amelio and Mark Ballas: tango (“Song 2” by Blur)

Jim Carrey began his entertainment career in the '70s as a stand-up comedian, where he entertained audiences with physical comedy and spot-on impressions of celebrities like Sammy Davis, Jr., and Clint Eastwood. In the 1980s, he landed smaller roles in TV and movies before becoming a regular on the comedy sketch show "In Living Color" in 1990. Carrey quickly proved to be a valuable asset to the show by lampooning pop culture figures like Vanilla Ice and creating a wacky list of recurring characters such as Fire Marshall Bill and Vera De Milo. Despite being part of an ensemble cast that included other heavyweight talents like David Alan Grier, Jamie Foxx, and Keenan and Damon Wayans, Carrey's comedic abilities stood out. "In Living Color" ended in 1994, but Carrey's career was only beginning.
