I recently borrowed a copy of this film from a friend. I couldn't believe it. I was mesmerized. It was brilliant! Robson Green was wonderful as Michael. He was a shipbuilder in a society where men don't admit abusive wives, but are mostly the abusers themselves. He had to finally come to terms with the knowledge that he couldn't remain in the marriage because of his wife. She was jealous of every woman who he talked too and that led to a fight, in which Michael was beaten up. Michaels back was so bruised that even his son asked him if he needed to go to the hospital. In the end, the son realized that the fear he held for his dad was misplaced and it was the mother who was the one to fear and was the abuser.

It is a strong film, an adult film about serious issues, but if an adult is present, it would be good for adults and teenage children to see considering the rise of violence between teenage girls and their boyfriends or visa-versa. I thoroughly recommend this film.
