In your opinion....

Warning: Spoilers
I am doing some research on this film and was wondering some personal opinions any of you may have about this film. For example, why do you think its good or bad? why is it successful or unsuccessful in portraying its intended message? what specific things stand out to you? Feel free to get in on the discussion. Thanks!

To get it started I figured I would give my reaction to the film. I really think the film is successful because it tells a story that so many can relate to. The whole time I watched the film I was thinking about someone close to me who had a similar experience of date rape. Because of this I think I saw the film from a particular point of view. All of the emotions that Bilson's character goes through are so real to that type of experience. The part where the film starts making everything reverse in slow motion really has an impact. To me this goes along with the words at the end, "the memory can be buried, but the reality cannot be erased." No matter how much someone wishes it never happened... that reality cannot be taken back, the fact is that victims have to live with that reality. To be honest, every time I watch this film, I feel sad yet ready to do something about instances of rape happening so often to so many. The statistics are astonishing...this is a huge problem that needs to be addressed and I think "Unbroken" and its sponsor, RAINN, does a good job of that. Any other thoughts???
