Much Improved From The First
11 January 2008
White Noise was good. Good, but slow. And I mean very slow. I can see that the makers of White Noise 2 wanted to speed things up a bit to make the sequel a bit more exciting and much more scary. However, there is such a thing as moving too fast. The scenes seemed rushed and didn't have a single flow. When things got scary, the scene would slow down and have a nice pace. But in between these moments, the dialogue and the explanations were thrown at you at head-spinning speed. One incident would suddenly lead to an explanation almost as if they already knew what was going on. There was no hunt, only revelation. Another bad thing about this sequel was the acting. Most of the actors were good (i.e. the leads) but some of the others weren't so good. They seemed phony and none too sincere. Past all that, the movie was good. Tense, there were moments when my eyes were really wide, and i was on the edge of my seat. It was good at doing that, and even when i knew something was going to jump out, it still got me anyways (although i wasn't able to guess when every ghostly appearance was). Over-all, this one was much better than the first, and far more interesting.
