Review of Apollo 18

Apollo 18 (2011)
5/10
Not as bad as many people are saying
4 January 2012
People HATE this movie, I mean, wow, do people hate this movie. When it came out there were several people going crazy about how much they hated this movie. Even my dad hated it, although he hated it because he didn't know it was about aliens. Then there are people who just don't like it because it was boring. Is there any one who can at least say that this movie was descent. Do not fear, North is Up is here. Apollo 18 isn't really that bad, it's sort of just an OK movie that had a lot of hype. And this did come out in 2011, the year of Alien movies, yet most of them sucked. Yet compared to Darkest Hour, Paul, Cowboys and Aliens, and Battle: LA, this movie isn't that bad.

It's a forgettable movie, with way too much padding, and generic characters. But I will give it this, there is enough suspense in there to make it through the movie once. That's it, it's really only interesting once, I saw it again and was even more bored. I never see myself watching it again.

But the acting is descent, the production value is really good, and it has it's moments. And unlike everyone else, I actually liked the monsters, they turned out to be something you would never expect. So Apollo 18 is a movie you may watch once and think it's OK, but it's really not worth a second viewing.
