Forensic students A.K.A "the main course" arrive on a crappy island.
4 April 2013
Warning: Spoilers
Solid zombie flick about a bunch of forensic students who arrive on some god-forsaken island that used to have a penitentiary and was also a site for bizarre government experiments. Their instructor is a no-nonsense guy who is a bit stuck-up and arrogant. He has placed bodies (borrowed from a morgue) at different locations on the island that are called "sites". The students are paired up and assigned a site where their forensic skills will be tested and scored by their instructor who is watching live video from cameras strategically placed at each site. The handy-man, a former convict, and the one who delivered the students to the island is the first to suspect something was up though no one would believe him (Hey, what is a horror movie without the nay-sayers?).

There you go, folks. The framework for this decent zombie offering. And now (if you care) some personal insights:

I gotta say, some of these zombies really know how to hustle for a meal and so are "a little more spry" than the classic shamblers and shufflers but nowhere near as fast as in some adapted zombie movies that I've seen and no doubt you've seen also if you frequent horror movies as I do. As well, the fact that panicky people often screw up while trying to get away is a big bonus for the undead.

In closing, I recommend this movie though it is not immune to people doing things that you the viewer might believe was not very smart. It's somewhat gory and disgusting in some places so I also recommend you take your squeamish girlfriend or boyfriend and I guarantee hand-holding action, head-on-shoulder --or somewhere-else action-- and quite a few "eeewws!" which, by the way, sounds better coming from a girl. Love, Boloxxxi.
