Lai Bhaari (2014)
4/10
Good Masala film of Marathi Cinema
15 August 2014
Warning: Spoilers
Ritiesh Deshmukh who nowdays is on cloud nine in Hindi films, is also trying to uplift Marathi Cinema, earlier he gave us YELLOW and BALAK PALAK which were offbeat films,Lai Bhaari makes his debut as an actor in Marathi Cinema and this time he opts for a typical Hindi film formula. The story is archaic but works well for a masala film. The film has a very weird plot in today's times but somehow it works for it's audience. The first half starts with romance, comedy and then we are introduced to villains who is also part of their family. The murder of 2 characters is well handled and Ritiesh's intro before interval is overdone but good. The second half focuses more on revenge and emotions and is well handled

Direction is good Music is decent

Ritiesh Deshmukh gets to play a typical commercial hero and is superb, whether as the innocent Prince or The Ruffian Mauli Its nice to see him try different roles compared to his comedies. Sharad Kelkar is superb as the villain, Radhika Apte is good as Mauli's girlfriend, Uday Tikekar is good,Tanvi Azmi is good too Salman khan is good in a cameo, rest are okay
