Lux is a 15 year old foster kid in Portland. She seeks emancipation. She discovers that her parents are local radio personality Cate Cassidy and aimless Nate Bazile after a one-night stand in high school. The judge decides to grant custody to Cate and Nate instead of emancipation. The problem is that Cate has boyfriend Ryan Thomas and Nate's life is a mess.
I like the three main actors Britt Robertson, Shiri Appleby and Kristoffer Polaha. However I don't always like the three main characters. They are a whiny bunch. There is some good potential but the show keeps getting into its own way. The first season is pretty good but the second season deteriorates and the show gets canceled.
