Jack has moved on with his life, having escaped his psychotic ex wife Hilary, he is now engaged to the softly spoken, sweet Sarah, Jack and Hilary have major issues, hating each other with a vengeance. Sarah, desperate to peace make instructs Jack to invite Hilary for Sunday lunch, of course the consequences aren't great.
The BBC once again comes up trumps with this pilot episode. Our ex wife is a totally different tone of comedy. A great concept, really well written, there is a hell of a lot of mileage to go in this show, which hopefully will get picked up for a full run.
Victoria Hamilton, once again showcases her mastery of comedy and timing, a show stealing performance, her facial gestures, her eyes, her sarcastic wit, she was a joy to watch, totally deserving of more prominence on TV. Robert Webb, Peter Egan and Melanie Lynskey all great too.
Really enjoyed 8/10
