First of all I'm a BIG Anurag Kashyap fan.
What works - many many things !
... Many more - I have given 7/10 already but I guess I expect Anurag to do better - unless I'm missing something.

What doesn't work for me:
Anyone willing to explain this ? Perhaps Anurag himself ? -----
First & foremost - the end doesn't get well with Shravan's spirited characterization.
After thrashing him black and blue the night before, Shravan requests Bhagwan Das to let him play in the semis despite being injured only to just give up in the first round and deliberately get knocked out and NEVER play again ? WHY ?
If he had decided in his mind to never play again and give up the sport - why did he have to play his last game and lose ?
After all of what happened, Shravan uncharacteristically gave up the fight and agreed to Bhagwan das' condition to not only never participate in professional boxing again but more importantly - NEVER TO TAKE HIS NAME ?
How could the fighter in Shravan let the badman go so easily ? I could understand if the ending showed Shravan trying to contact the media to report all of what happened to him and Bhagwan das using his clout to suppress it.
But giving up the fight for a character like Shravan didn't work for me at all.
Secondly - relatively minor point but seems like a script contrivance: If Bhagwan das had problems with Shravan's marriage to Sunaina, why did he let the marriage happen in the first place ? He could have easily stopped the marriage instead of letting it happen first and then doing maniacal damage control later !
Seems kindda stupid to me.
What works - many many things !
- Great acting - Vineet Kr Sing, Zoya & Jimmy Shergill were great.
- Awesome dialogues
- Superb detailing of a small-town UP life and struggles of a budding sportsperson from language to location to mannerism to practices, thought process and aspirations of people,
- Sunaina's sign language
- Shravan's boxing preparation - amazingly inspiring
