Lurid, gritty, and malevolent best describe director Russ Meyer' cult classic "Faster Pussycat Kill Kill" with Tura Satana, Haji, and Lori Williams as three bodaciously breasted go-go dancers who careen around the desert, murder guys, and kidnap a sixteen-year old for kicks. Lensed in black & white to keep within a low-budget, this mayhem is expertly photographed with lots of unsavory characters and some gender role variations that weren't mainstream back when it was released in 1965. Say what you want about Russ Meyers, a former U.S. Army photographer with fetish for women with pneumatic breasts, he knows how to get good performances out of his small cast and generate atmosphere galore. One of the best scenes has evil Varla in a Porsche with the accelerator buried under her lead foot as she keeps a brainless, muscle-bound brute pinned against a brick wall. Such is his formidable strength that he can hold the sports car in place while Varla increases her speed but ultimately buries her rear wheels up the axle in the dirt. Initially, as these three babes race in the desert, everything looks fine and peaceful until another fast driver with a sixteen-year old shows up. One thing leads to another and the pugnacious Varla tangles with him and snaps his neck. The gals must take the juvenile hostage because she can name them and put them in the chair. Later, these beautiful but devious girl stumble onto a crippled pervert (Stuart Lancaster) and his Herculean son who live in a compound in the desert. A mechanic tells the gals that the wheelchair bound older guy, who loves to cradle a double-barreled shotgun, has a stash of cash. Varla has him marked as an easy target, while the lascivious pedophile eyeballs the sixteen-year old with evil eyes. Jack Moran penned the screenplay based on an original story by Russ Meyer. If you're into 1960s era movies, "Faster Pussycat Kill Kill" amounts to a must-see!
