An excellent season finale

Some developments were a little predictable, while others were unexpected. The combination of Claire Danes and Mandy Patinkin, and the things they do on behalf of the country, continue to keep me on the edge of my seat. I expected but was pleased by Pres. Keanes' response near the end-were that all our leaders could be so thoughtful and noble.

Another commentator has complained that the ending trivializes and misrepresents Carrie's disorder, but I think he misunderstands the story of the seven months she was in Russian captivity. Her bipolar disorder would have been one factor leading up to the way she reacted at the end of the episode. Even a person with no mental disorder kept captive by vindictive agents of the FSB, the successor to the KGB, after undergoing repeated attempts to force them to give a false confession, would have had various mental and emotional issues when finally being released to U.S. officials.
