Corbin Nash (2018)
6/10
Confusing film ... but lie back and enjoy the filth ...
24 June 2018
I do wonder when I see all these 1- and 10-star reviews alongside each other, defeats the purpose of IMDb's sliding scale. Surely a film has to be spectacularly bad or good to earn that sort of rating, and 'Corbin Nash' was neither of those for me.

I can understand some of the flack it gets. A 'bit-part' film that doesn't really know what it is ... apocalyptic, torture-revenge, fantasy, vampire-slaying, (although as someone already pointed out, they've rather tagged this on the end), even Christian imagery ... the mish-mash of candy-noir doesn't really work for me either. Some of the reviews put it down to the acting (blind prophet Malcolm McDowell trying to sound profound is stretching it ...), more likely to be the writing. Anyways, don't over-think Corbin Nash, arch-villains Corey Feldman and Richard Wagner make the film more than bearable, although I'm sure if it were Batman the whole thing would play out better. Strange, too, that 'heavy-hitters' McDowell and Rutger Hauer obviously saw something in the film, more than the 1 out of 10 some reviewers believe it merits.

So, you're not going to get these 100 minutes back, but Corbin Nash is a passable one-time viewing. Lie back and enjoy all the gore and filth ...
