It's just becoming kind of ridiculous.

Warning: Spoilers
This season is getting pretty ridiculous. A lot of reviewers seem hyped that they're bringing back characters from past seasons but with the ensemble cast that means the same people with the same faces are playing two or more characters which really interferes with my suspension of disbelief. I did like Coven and it's kind of cool to have the witches back but the writing is so over-the-top and cheesy that even that is proving to be an exercise in ham-handed silliness. And as per usual, the writers try to do too much and encorporate too many elements into the show. Like why kill off Kathy Bate's character only to bring her back as a robot? It seems superfluous and just a way to throw a reference to AI in the mix simply because it's trending topic. Perhaps they'll be an actual plot-related reason for it when all is said and done but knowing these writers I kind of doubt it. It calls to mind the completely unnecessary UFO subplot in AHS: Asylum. How about just don't kill off Bate's character until you're actually done with her and leave the unrealistic robot crap out of it. The Satanic cult is cheesy and pathetic as well, a prime example of some truly hack writing. Not sure if we were meant to find some levity in observing their proceedings, but the whole thing just fell flat for me. Anyways, I'll continue watching until the end but I've found myself annoyed more than anything this season.
