The Journey (II) (2019)
4/10
Some nice shots, but overall rather bland

Warning: Spoilers
"The Journey" is a 6-minute live action short film from 2019 and this was released about a month ago, but already managed double-digits millions of clicks on Youtube. Not too shabby. the reason may be that the director is Ridley Scott, really a big name and into his 80s now. The writer is Olivia Milch, who may not have Scott's career, but is on the rise being in charge of the most recent Ocean's movie not too long ago. The cast includes Sylvia Hoeks, who I know and find surprisingly attractive for a blonde, as well as Aure Atika and I have never heard of her and no idea why she was cast here. I am sure there is a good reason. Anyway, this is the story of a woman being on the tail of another woman, but it is never really clear what exactly is going on. Is it supposed to be a contract kill, an arrest or something completely different? A lot is about suspense for this movie. But the problem is I never really cared and I guess this applies to many other viewers as well. It is a relatively shallow film in my opinion. There are some fairly nice shots thanks to Scott's involvement and he certainly still has it. But in terms of the plot, it is a rather weak movie and there it shows that it is basically an overlong commercial for Turkish Airlines. Well, they paid for it, so I can say it I guess. Only worth seeing for family and friends of cast and crew as well as Ridley Scott completionists. I give it a thumbs-down. Not recommended.
