Review of Cruise

Cruise (2018)
5/10
barely a fortunato ride back to the 80's
24 April 2019
Its a rare try to make an 80'ish flick in 2019. its a very hard genre to bust the block with, and its all on the average level. it is a story about a handsome guy and his petty crime grand theft car stereo stealingfriend s, and their life and despair in the love of cars and girls.

its also a love story, as the young man is a road racer and a womanizer of great talents, its also lots of party, music, barriers, drugs, carstealing, mobsters and close family relations. you will rather quikly sense the 80's in style and wear, and the most modern gadget seen in the flick is a digital emergency caller that beeps the number you should connect too(forgotten its name)

what lifts this film up to another level is the great filmography, the way of the lightsettings, sets and decorations giving it a smooth touch of warmth, that makes you want to continue and explore what happens. it ha s a real boost on action from ca 70 mins in the movie, due to a stupid descision made by the main, so there are something to look forward to.

the cast does an average job on the set, mostly due to a sloppy story and script. they really try to live up to the bouncing a break dancing worming the asphalt in the rythm of the night.

its a bit sad to say that i was a kinda cool eighties kid to, not on the stealing issues, but enough to make an old grumpy man become a bit touched and therefore recommends it a little.
