The Mexican landscape for romcoms is devastatingly bad, full of cliches and misogyny. this one is another thing, it's lighthearted, funny, feminist with a positive message of sorority and self improvement. It doesn't rely on fat, homophobe, misogynistic jokes to make the audience laugh (like many cheap movies which sadly came to be a big success). In here, every woman is valid. The score is very harsh and I personally don't think it deserves it. I'd love to see more about class consciousness and racism but it's definitely a big step towards a more inclusive mainstream Mexican cinema.
To be honest I saw on the same day Cindy and Little Woman, and the one I enjoyed the most (maybe bc it was more contemporary and its placed on my country) it was definitely this one.
Cannot miss it! Good message, good laughs.
