small town Pitch Perfect
16 June 2020
Arthur Cochran (Bradley Whitford) was forced to resign from Princeton due to complaints from students. He is a drunk from the lost of his wife. His life is a mess until he stumbles into the local church. They need the music professor to produce their choral group in competitions. The overwhelming favorite is the rival megachurch which happens to have refused to bury Arthur's beloved late wife. He decides to lead the choir for revenge.

This is trying to be small town Pitch Perfect. There are issues with the menagerie of characters. I don't believe that they are small town folks. Whitford is fine as the big city elite and Camp has her southern drawl. The rest of them all have some weirdness that doesn't quite fit. The premise is silly network fare. Despite all of that, this is elevated by a group of likeable actors and their chemistry helps salvage this with a bit of fun.
