This is my 2nd viewing of Season 1, I've gone back to refresh my memory. I remember not liking this episode, thought that maybe after having watched every season of the show, I'd think differently.
I don't.
It feels like they didn't really know how to end it, it doesn't flow with the rest of the season or with what happened in other episodes.
The ghosts are always interacting with each other, so why didn't any ghost intervene when Hayden killed Ben? They get together to scare away the next family that moves in, why didn't they do that for the Harmons?
The concept of scaring away the family feels like the writers didn't know what to do with the dead family, were up watching Beetlejuice one night and thought "oh! let's do that!" but it doesn't work here at all because it doesn't match the tone of the show.
