As one of the best episodes in the show's history, this one's hard to top. It's very cleverly put together, as the titular battle only occupies about fifteen minutes of screen time, but it's shot in such an epic, fresh and involving way that you feel like you've been watching it for hours. Until then we get an excellent Meereen set-piece which is one of the finest the show's mounted at this point, but it's instantly surpassed by the events outside Winterfell. Superb direction is the order of the day here, the show packing in all of the intrigue, horror, gore, character beats and wonderful scenery you've come to expect. Plus, there's THAT climax, undoubtedly the most satisfying in the whole show. Excellent stuff!
