Character and story development were weak. The two women meet at an adoption seminar followed by the author hiring the photographer turned homemaker. This was the premise of getting them together but, the job is never explained or completed---plot hole. Friendship turns to love and sex. The author character was too selfish expecting her new lover to extricate herself from a 15 year marriage overnight. The son character was a mixed metaphor. He's old enough to have found his true love in high school that sleeps over but, can't handle his parents divorce. Yet, the kid can drink POPOV vodka straight. The dad / father was not worth mentioning---window dressing. The author's childhood friend, fellow lesbian and neighbor seems unlikely.I don't buy the we're friends, not lovers. The wife going thru a divorce decides on invitro fertilization with the love guru / narrator as a sperm donor. Pastors don't make a lot of money and divorcees lives are in chaos for months after the divorce. Where did the money come from ? The narrator was annoying./ Here is a timeout, I'll explain what you should have gotten from each scene. The ending was too cliché. The author and her neighbor are talking about the author's upcoming adoption. After they run into everyone else in the movie at the park this adopted baby to be disappears. The Wife has one and it's good enough for both of them. We see the whole group in the park the neighbor has a black girlfriend, never mentioned or seen before. Only black character in the movie, was she included for the sake of diversity ?
