I had a lot of fond memories watching Fairy Oddparents as a kid, but the show clearly went downhill drastically. Similar to Spongebob, the show got worse as time went on.
Fairy Oddparents was amazing at seasons 1-5. The episodes were really funny, the stories were creative, and I absolutely loved the TV movies. There's a lot of iconic moments from the show's early run. By season 6, the show wasn't that good anymore. The stories and comedy were still good, but the show changed so dramatically. The TV movies from seasons 6-8 were a mixed bag; some were great while some were terrible. Seasons 6-8 were okay in my opinion as not a lot was changed from the show entirely.
Unfortunately, seasons 9-10 just ruined the show for me. The stories were redundant, the comedy was subpar, and the new characters were awful. I understand that a show going on too long wants to do something new, but this is just awful. At that point, Fairy Oddparents went through a huge derailment.
With that in mind, I do still think the show is good excluding the last two seasons. Even though seasons 6-8 weren't as good and seasons 9-10 were awful, I still enjoyed the great moments from the first few seasons. The show is just a primary example on the effect of letting a show overstay its welcome. I recommend the first 5 seasons, and maybe seasons 6-8 if you're a little more forgiving of the show. But I don't recommend seasons 9-10. The show is good, but the changes prevented it from being amazing in the long run.
