Way different than the book.

Warning: Spoilers
My friend wanted to watch this film after reading the book. I absolutely HATED this film because I feel that they took the easy way out. The cinematography is beautiful. The acting is top notch. But when I read the book I couldn't stand Stella. She makes a lot of choices that were not shown on screen and they completely changed how she commits suicide. Stella in the novel is not a sympathetic character. Casting Natasha Richardson automatically made her a more likeable character. The tone of the story seemed to completely shift. I wouldn't watch this film again but the craftmanship of filming was good. READ THE BOOK FIRST!
