Rumpole and the Eternal Triangle
14 May 2021
Rumpole attends a Schubert concert given by a trio with Hilda and Claude Erskine-Brown.

While struggling to keep his eyes open, Rumpole spots pretty violinist Elizabeth Casterini making eyes at him.

Apparently she remembers Rumpole when he defended her friend from college some years earlier. She even gives Rumpole her phone number.

Rumpole is rather flattered and spruces himself up.

However Elizabeth might have ulterior motives as soon her husband is accused of murdering her lover. They all performed together.

Meanwhile Erskine-Brown lands himself with an accusation of sexual harassment from Dot Clapton.

I did not think much of the Erskine-Brown story and his bumbling attempt to see if Dot is being harassed by Henry. It was clear they were rehearsing for a play.

Meanwhile it was clear Rumpole was being used by the wily Elizabeth Casterini. She was softening Rumpole up hoping that she would never be suspected.

Entertaining but too lightweight. Another sign that Rumpole is just running on fumes.
