Sacrifice (2019 TV Movie)

Warning: Spoilers
Against my better judgment I watched this movie and wasted 76 minutes doing so. The storyline? There really wasn't anything original in this film which is typical of a Chris Stokes film. The writing was lousy, the acting was worse, and really did Paula Patton's character really have to walk up to her assistant so the assistant could take her coat? The gratuitous sex scenes were, well gratuitous. The best parts of the movie was the guy plucked from the mailroom, who was blackmailed into working for Patton's character; and the beginning scenes with the car crash, which held some promise but then skirted off to being lost in some hole. Also, how many times are we going to see some music artist get hung out of a window or dangled from a roof? And then there's the idiotic role of the female singer's boyfriend - that in itself is worth at least two paragraphs of criticism.

I'm all for people turning their ideas into films or TV series' but be original, and if you can't be original, then have a writer write the hell out of the idea, have great direction, better dialogue, and even better acting. Viewers deserve more than just throwing some crap into a pan, calling it a movie and then hoping it gets picked up for a series. Do your research and your homework and do better. Stop taking your audience for granted!

And BET, that goes for you also. Sacrifice is one of the worst movies I've seen in a minute but I haven't decided (yet) if it's worse than that Deborah Cox movie Influence (too much overacting but thanks for Columbus Short - he played his character well). There's too much money in Black Hollywood for folks to keep churning out these horribly, written, horribly directed, horribly acted films. Pool your funds and get it together!
