Warning: Spoilers
I thought the acting was good. Especially Theo James. I found his character convincing, interesting and written well. Also kudos to Ebon Moss-Bachrach (the brother) and Isiah Whitlock Jr. (the FBI agent). I wasn't terribly impressed with Emily Ratasjkowki. Her part was cliche. And her acting went from okay to unconvincing.

The writing was good in the beginning. But it fell apart in the end. At the very least, it left lots of questions.

  • First of all, who's house was that they used for the big sting? I guess we are supposed to assume the characters - being who they were - scoped out a house where they knew nobody would be home, and the bypassed the alarm.

I guess we are also supposed to assume they cleaned up the crime scene from murder, to look like an overdose. That is a lot for the viewer to assume. Never addressed.

  • Secondly, after the police are tipped off to the supposed OD, what was the mark doing in that house? He didn't know the house or the owners. He's a rich guy who just breaks into a stranger's house to drink wine and do cocaine? Don't you think that would be a big red flag to the detectives investigating the case?

  • Thirdly, why would the mark request an art piece that is in the Guggenheim be stolen from a random middle income house when he knows the thief is knowledgeable about art, and does his research? And after the murder is foiled, why would the thief text the mark that the piece was stolen when both knew it wasn't in the said home? Wouldn't that be a tip off to the mark that he was being set up?

I found it mildly engaging and entertaining. I liked most of the acting. The dialogue was good. I watched it from beginning to end. But like most movies, the writing fell apart.
