I write this as someone with literally zero interest in or knowledge of wrestling. FWMF is indistinguishable from any other sporting underdog movie. It follows exactly the same trajectory as The Mighty Ducks, Cool Runnings, Eddie the Eagle, etc. What it does have going for it is the wonderful Florence Pugh, who has never looked better (I love the Goth aesthetic), and enough humour to keep you from falling asleep.
